I read the short summary on IMDb about this, it really didn't say anything about the movie, I read somewhere else that it was a comedy and it had a good story, but again not giving me insight to the story. Not really knowing what this film was about, I started watching and after about 15 minutes your in the loop of things, its elaborated through out the movie and in some cases it's really good and refreshing to see this who-is-cheating-who-and-making- money-on-it kind of strange film.I thought it was funny to see Duchovny in this, I'm kinda sexy but doesn't really know how to handle this setup. I think Duchovny and Moore has a good partnership and they play their roles very well, from start to finish they change characters, not in a unexpected way, but in a regular to romantic-comedy's kind of way. It's a good movie and a good concept, one that maybe could have been done better, it's not a bad result at all, but I wasn't hundred percent entertained.

I am a big follower of Indian Movies especially Malayalam and Hollywood.Shame on India for not sending this movie as their official Oscar entry. I have seen this movie and it has clearly revealed to me the maturity Hollywood cinema has in its screenplay and narrative which bollywood better catch up with.By the way to all we westerners, Hollywood Cinema is more qualitative and very different from Bollywood which is all about good looks glamour and promotion.Coming to the point what was India thinking when they sent a movie like 'Devdas' to the Oscars? That was a really a Masochist move. I think they are trying to punish Oscar judges with boredom by sending Devdas since the judges toppled Lagaan a few years back.'Devdas' is just a brigthly colored but stale and predictable melodrama of Love, fate and destiny. I would keep away from it. Anyway, not sending a movie like The Joneses shows how much of a revamp Indian administration needs to save them from poor administrators who lack intelligence. Now I know why this country has so many issues. They are heavily talented but not showcased properly.

There's something really compelling about this movie: I thought it was very well cast, well directed and well played by all. It keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what the big secret of this "family" is; I assumed they were spies or something. Once I found out, I thought what they do for a living was pretty implausible--as if they would network with enough people in their community to cause such measurable spikes in sales of consumer goods, let alone generate enough income to justify their lavish cover lifestyle. But if you can get past that, it works really well, and thematically is about how little we really know the people around us, even (or especially) our neighbors. I really liked the character arcs--that's what makes this movie work so well in my opinion--especially that of the "son" being gay. That was definitely unexpected and takes the story to new depths. Overall it was kind of American Beauty-esque both in theme and how we follow each character and get to see them for who they really are. In fact it seems to pay homage to American Beauty in more than one or two ways. On the one hand that seems like a cheap rip off, but on the other hand, overall the film works and has enough original and good elements to keep you interested. Plus AB is my all time favorite movie so I don't mind at all.I thought this film had a rare depth and I was really invested in the story & characters from the first frame to the credits. A really well made film. Oh and p.s., casting Lauren Hutton was a master stroke on an already superb cast.

I've never heard of this before; it's quite brilliant, and certainly better than I thought it would be. Why is it that when there finally comes a different movie, different from all the rest of the cliché crap, it doesn't get much attention? It's such a clever way to market new products, but everyone always seems to forget the nature of humans and their feelings. That's why I'm amazed at the work of actors; some slip through and get together, but the rest for the most part can have no feelings for a person, but make it look otherwise. I guess that's what you call just business - and of course things go awry. This was a very fun movie to watch. I doubt anyone would guess the ending, but that's just me maybe. I highly recommend this fun- filled movie; it just might tell you what family really is.
