This movie was freaking incredible. I figured it would just be a fun nighttime watch but it was way more. I would especially like to point out how my jaw dropped multiple times at what happened throughout the movie. I won't spoil anything but around 10 minutes left in the movie I was speachless at the plot twist. Excellent movie and I recommend to anyone that likes Jaws or sharks in general.
6.8/10 A solid shark thriller with some genuinely well executed suspenseful sequences and a somewhat unexpected ambitious ending. The cgi sharks i thought looked very well and were utilized properly and the underwater environment was portrayed marvelously. At times Moore and Holt are extremely cliche and annoying but honestly thats the main downfall and this is quite underrated.
I don't like the edging because they need to be alive together. everything was too difficult to save the life but that was just illusion
I thought long and hard about whether this was a 2-star or a 3-star. In the end, I realised that it just doesn't make sense, so it's a 2-star. It feels exactly like someone said, "We've got this boat, some diving equipment and we can get Matthew Modine for a day or two. Let's see what kind of a film we can make." The answer is, "Not a very good one." It doesn't entertain, it doesn't thrill, there's no suspense, it's full of all the usual clichés and it drags, even though it's quite short. Avoid.
