Rachel, a rookie cop, is about to begin her first night shift in a neglected police station in a Scottish, backwater town. The kind of place where the tide has gone out and stranded a motley bunch of the aimless, the forgotten, the bitter-and-twisted who all think that, really, they deserve to be somewhere else. They all think they're there by accident and that, with a little luck, life is going to get better. Wrong, on both counts. Six is about to arrive - and All Hell Will Break Loose!

This British/Irish film doesn't present a particularly reassuring image of the police force, at least not in the remote Scottish village in which the story is set. They are either using their patrol duty for sex opportunities or taking steps to make life as uncomplicated as possible for themselves. This is the environment new recruit PC Rachel Heggie (Polyanna McKintosh so good in 2011'a 'The Woman', 2014's 'White Settlers' and the 'Walking the Dead' television series) walks into.A mysterious man, known as Six (the always excellent and intense Liam Cunningham) arrives without explanation at the police station and is placed amongst the other prisoners held there – wife-beater Ralph (Jonathan Watson) and a small time crook Caeser (Brian Vernel). The colour-grading is hugely drab: all dawn raw blue and urine yellow. It induces a slightly sickly atmosphere. This is superbly directed by Brian O'Malley who manages to create some gory death moments virtually guaranteed to lift you from your seat. The ending, and the true identity of Six, remains enigmatic to the end. And yet there is a sense of closure on this particular night's events that satisfies whilst appearing to be end only of the first chapter of a continuing narrative.'Let us Prey' is a tremendous production that never slackens its pace and doesn't put a foot wrong. Love it.

This movie was fantastic! A bizarre mesh of fantasy and horror, as well as being incredibly funny, I found myself laughing out loud throughout the movie, as well as being genuinely shocked by some of the horrific imagery.Truly an original feat. The film centers around a mysterious man with psychic abilities that enters the local police precinct and exacts justice to both prisoner and officer alike.Stars Liam Cunningham from Game of Thrones. I highly recommend this movie-especially if you like genre mashups like Evil Dead 2 and You're Next.

I liked the plot line. The actors they picked were pretty good. The special effects were poor to say the least. A woman who gets shot in the spine with a shotgun is not going to walk away. A woman who gets shot in the shoulder with a shotgun would not have a tiny red mark, her entire f-ing arm would be gone! The part where wannabe homo-Rambo shoots a GAS can being launched at him and sets himself on fire was so ridiculous, and the fire was laughably fake. The death scene of the obnoxious bitch cop was great though. I laughed out loud at her demise. I wish they had gone a little more into detail with the reason for everyone being there. It was easy enough to put the pieces together, but not much fun. It was more like a kids 8 piece puzzle than an adult 1,000 piece. More information about the kidnapper or the guy the two cops killed, or more background on Sargent McCannibal would have been nice. And then you have the end. ??? The end leaves you with that annoying "WTF??" feeling, where you wish the movie would have just ended 2 min ago instead of adding in that extra piece of crap to mess with your head. BUT, I do give it a seven for the pure fact that it was a good idea, it just could have been executed better. And I liked the old guy...until the very end.

The film starts with some truly beautiful photography and cinematography and I thought we were in for a visual treat sadly this is not carried forward to the rest of the film. This is a story about the usual day to day life's in a typical backwater Scottish village, the wife beating doctor, the murderous joy rider, the psychotic cops who beat their prisoner to death, the paedophile teacher, only joking!! After such a bright start it is a well trodden path as Clint Eastwood, or the Scottish version arrives in town to wreak revenge on the wrong doers. It is all a bit predictable and it is a shame as I thing there is a better movie in there, a few lingering shots of the mountains to build atmosphere but all seems too rushed, the acting was OK but the script a bit one dimensional.
