Vince Vaughn and Kevin James are best friends who are both in relationships. However, one of their partners is cheating on them and the other guy finds out. The idea for this had so much potential, I think Vince Vaughn can be very funny and that Ron Howard is a talented director but what in the heck were they thinking?!This movie takes a very dark turn even though it was marketed as a silly comedy. The jokes are lacking and the writing is terrible. The "cars are gay" speech was the most painful monologue I've heard in a long time and forced beyond belief. Queen Latifah is a decent actress but her performance is embarrassing here and none of her innuendos are clever. She just brings the plot to a screeching halt. The decisions that these characters make are beyond ridiculous and don't make any sense. Winona Ryder's character had some of the worst motivations I've seen in a long time.It can't decide whether it wants to be a comedy or drama. The serious moments fail and this movie is an absolute mess. It's not the worst movie I've ever seen but it's pretty bad. I have no idea why Ron Howard thought this script was the next best thing. You know what? I don't think it even had a script, come to think of it. This movie is not worth your time or money. Two hours of my life, gone forever!

Am I the only one who felt a bit duped? They put a couple of (normally quite) funny actors on the cover and the Dilemma's marketing describes it as a 'comedy.' It isn't.Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad film, just not particularly funny. No, scrub that - not funny at all. I sat there waiting for the jokes. They didn't come.Vince Vaughn discovers his best friend's wife is cheating with another man. The 'dilemma' comes as he struggles to decide what to do about it. Yes, with a plot like that, there's a certain amount of scope for comedy. However, they obviously chose not to go with it.Like I say, the film's okay, but I put it on expecting a happygolucky, silly comedy (such as the Wedding Crashers or something) to tickle my funny bone for an hour and a half. I felt a little cheated. I may however watch it another time, but only when I'm in the mood for something a little more heavy.

THE DILEMMAThis is a good comedy.I went to the cinema with my girlfriend to watch this a long time ago. We watched it again last night and still thought it was good. The movie is about 2 guys, Vince Vaughn and Kevin James, who are best friends and business partners. They are just trying to land a big contract with the car company, Dodge. Vince catches Kevin's wife fooling around with another man, but he doesn't know if he should tell him or not because he doesn't want to hurt his friend and also let it distract him from the job at hand. Vince then confronts Kevin's wife about it and she bribes him to not say anything. The rest of the movie is about Vince trying to catch her out with funny consequences. The casting is good for this film. I am not a huge Vince Vaughn fan, but I don't mind him. He has made some good films in the past. He does a good job in this film. Kevin James is a funny man, he makes me laugh. I liked him in King of Queens. Vince's girlfriend is played by Jennifer Connelly and Kevin's wife is played by Winona Ryder. My favourite character in the movie is a guy named Zip, played by Channing Tatum. He is so funny in this movie. The story is good, the acting is good and it is directed by Ron Howard who is a legend.I will give this film 7 out of 10.A good comedy with not too much of the romance. No having seen a trailer for this, I could only go with the stars as to what kind of movie this was. Given the two leads, this seemed to me like it would be a comedy. Sure, Vince Vaughn has done some dramatic roles, but to me he is a comedic actor first, and Kevin James is strictly comedic. After this movie ended, I was confused; was this supposed to be a comedy or a drama? If it was supposed to be a comedy, then it wasn't very funny, and if it was a drama, then it was rather light. Further muddying the waters was Channing Tatum's character, whose personality seems to change with each line; in one he is a violent lunatic, the next he is a touchy-feely type. All in all, this was 110 minutes of wasted time, except for the scenes at Blackhawks games (I'm a fan).
