Yogi Bear (Dan Aykroyd) lives in Jellystone Park always scheming to nab pic-ka-nik baskets with his side kick Boo Boo (Justin Timberlake). Ranger Smith (Tom Cavanagh) is in charge of keeping the peace. Rachel (Anna Faris) comes in to shoot a documentary. Corrupt Mayor Brown (Andrew Daly) decide to get more money by having the park logged. The CG Yogi Bear and Boo Boo still has a cartoon feel. Maybe that's a good thing. A too realistic Yogi Bear would probably not fly. But it does make this film little more than an extended cartoon. It doesn't have the feel of something more substantial. To me, Yogi Bear was always funnier as a concept than a cartoon. It's a rather thin concept to base a movie on. Even at 80 minutes long, the movie feels stretched out.

starting Anna Farris.as a kid on TV cartoon network in Pakistan showed yogi bear i used to watch the cartoons all day including the sexy johnny bravo as i remember. i never seen much of it but when i saw this last year in 2012 on DVD i was surprised the makers of this film managed to provide great entertainment without loosing the touch of classic old yogi bear.since the film was made with real people & animation of yogi bear & boo boo, usually Hollywood destroys it but this is the best.plot is simple jelly-stone park is about to shut down & yogi bear is warned by park ranger to stop stealing food from people who come to jelly-stone.things goes hilarious as yogi continues his wrong doings.it includes total fun, entertainment, comedy, kids will enjoy it if you pick it up.i am not a kid but i still like good stuff.weather its movies, music, games or sports.i would like to see a sequel of this movie & fans deserves it.the only thing bad here is that it ended too soon,my rating is 6/10 yogi bear never looked so good before & yes of course Anna Farris too

I know this is Yogi Bear's first movie and I know that it's a long time since he was seen. But, I want to know who was the jackass that said "Hey, this is a great idea for a movie! I'm so smart!" Why is Yogi Bear nothing but bear s___? Let's dive in...First, the acting. No one, not even the voice actors, have put effort into their acting. Dan Akroyd, what the hell were you thinking?! You were in Ghostbusters! GHOSTBUSTERS, FOR GOODNESS SAKES! Second, the CGI Yogi Bear. Wow, they were on drugs when they made the CGI Yogi Bear. Looks like somebody didn't learn their listen after that piece of s___ Scooby Doo movie. Third, the 3D version isn't helping much. Where's the action scenes?! I wanna see epic car chases, not seeing two people talk to each other in f______ 3D!!! Fourth, most of the time, this movie isn't even about Yogi Bear at all. The most camera time goes to some jerk-off who wants to close down Jellystone Park. SHARE THE SPOTLIGHT, YA DAMN CAMERA HOG!!! Bottom Line: Lack of laughter, hideous CGI characters, corny acting, and the villain hogging the camera are the reasons why Yogi Bear should have been shot so that it be made into a bear rug.

As a teenager who grew up with Hanna-Barbera and Bagdasarian, I was really nervous when I saw the first trailers for this movie. my first thoughts were "Why, Aykroyd, why?" But, being an Aykroyd fan, and seeing it on sale for $5 at Walmart, I decided to watch it and see.First of all, it was definitely not true to the original cartoons, but then again, it is supposed to have a modern twist to it. Kind of like the new Chipmunk movies (Which, I hate to admit, didn't mind). There were a few bits from the cartoons, but the writers went their own way on it. Putting aside any knowledge of Yogi Bear, I actually liked the movie. The story was kind of simple and easy to guess, but it isn't supposed to be some intense drama. It's a light comedy about a talking bear. I have read some reviews talking about the humour in the movie, well I have to admit the joke about using the turtle as a footstool made me have to pause the movie because I kept bursting out laughing. I thought the humour was right on the dot, but then again, that's just my opinion of what I think is funny. One thing I didn't like was that I found the scenes between the actors and the bears awkward. Obviously the actors didn't have the CGI bears right there in front of them, but I think it could have been done a little bit better. All in all, I liked the movie. But if you are a die hard Yogi fan, it might not be the best movie for you. That is my reasoning for giving it a seven out of ten.
