Watching the Western fantasies about the future and it clicks: the Western future society is far worse than any non Western threat, including the recent Islamist scare. Halo is about a platonic society of numbers where there is no personality, only the body, an ant hill ready to battle nobody knows what.Contact me with Questions, Comments or Suggestions ryitfork @ bitmail.ch

Children are recruited for a top secret military project. After brutal boot vamp and physical enhancements, they form the basis of a strike force against an alien invasion. This feature-length CGI animation is a 3-part mini-series joined together, based on a novel and video game, neither of which I know much about. The story is fine, albeit very reminiscent of Robert Heinlein's Starship Troopers, intertwined with assorted rites of passage stories, not to mention Wolverine's origin. The backgrounds, props and sets are great - strongly effective visuals, well designed and executed. The characters and animation are downright poor, especially for something created in 2015. The faces are inexpressive and far too similar, the facial animation is unconvincing, and the characters are extremely badly integrated into the scenery. The voice acting isn't very good, either. This could have been much, much better.

I just couldn't get past the animation and the egregious lack of diversity. I mean it's an animated film for crying out loud. Movie makers have to realize that adapting a story-line from a video-game is easy. Just don't add in more than it needs to be. It's funny because a die-hard gamer friend of mine warned me to stay away from pretty much most video game adaptations and he was right. This starts out just too entirely bloated in terms of meaningless dialog. The set-up is just too long winded and no way is this much set up needed for an action film. The dramatic moments are absent and there is no reason for such a set-up. We all know what the end result will be.I can't believe this is a Microsoft product. The animation is almost amateurish. The emotions have to register on their facial movements and I can't even get an even palate on the characters clothing. It's like watching stick figures talk to each other. The Final Fantasy films run circles around this film.If you haven't seen this yet don't bother.

I enjoy The Fall of Reach for what it is. However I like Forward Unto Dawn more, the Animation I like the style of it. But I have only one problem with this Animated feature. The title is a darn lie! If your series doesn't even deal with The Fall of Reach or part of what was covered in Halo Reach, don't even call it The Fall of freaking Reach! Just call it either Halo Origins or Halo Blue Team and it'd be done. Look I know that this is based on the Novel, but still it doesn't make since when you think about it. Halo Origins would have been a better title. And even still, so with all odds Halo The Fall of Reach is best of what it can do. I give it a 8 out of 10.
