I really enjoyed the first Beethoven, while it had its flaws, it was cute and charming. This sequel has its contrivances and a little mediocre in places, but it is a decent sequel, definitely one of the more watchable ones in the franchise. The script is weak in places, and the plot is something you will have seen before. Plus the pacing is rather hectic, and the film could have been longer. That said it is beautifully filmed, with lovely cinematography and even better scenery. The music score I couldn't fault either, and the gags are interesting(the hamburger contest was a riot). The acting is decent, with Charles Grodin very entertaining as George and Bonnie Hunt luminous as Alice. As the villains of the pieces, Debi Mazar and Chris Penn also impress. But the real stars are the dogs, Beethoven is still his funny and adorable self, but he is almost upstaged by the beautiful and equally adorable Missy. Overall, has its problems, but as a sequel it is watchable, certainly better than the rating here(and I also think the first film is rated too low). 6/10 Bethany Cox

In this installment, which is just as bland, but charming as the first, Beethoven meets a female Saint Bernard and the two have puppies. Now, it delves into 101 DALMATIONS territory. Two purebreds have purebred puppies, wicked, evil woman wants to do something naughty to the puppies. Instead of Cruella, we have Regina, who might as well be Cruella without the cigarette holder. (Just Avian bottled water. Guess that's the PC substitute.) Her boy friend is a total moron. How did he get mixed up with somebody like her anyway? There is a bit of a dark side to this movie. Beethoven saves Rice from getting sexually assaulted by literally tearing this guy's house down. Good on you, boy! Also what Regina and her boy friend almost do to those dogs is a bit disturbing, but, as usual, Beethoven saves the day. Once again, you don't really get to know the humans enough to really care about them and apparently, in these movies, the humans are morons who can't take care of their own, so a dog has to do it for them. What's up with that?

SPOILERS Just like the original Beethoven this is an adorable little movie with a name that is based on a German composer. Well, not really based, just the name is used. Anyway, this is a cute movie that is just as good as the original that can melt your heart into a soft, fine mush. What I have odd is that you never see the little Beethoven puppies ever again. They just like disappear into thin air. Maybe it is because the Newton's are never seen again. The actors in this movie portray their original roles, and there are new character that you are bound to hate. Here is the plot of this film. The lovable Saint Bernard named Beethoven falls in love with another Saint Bernard named Missy. They have puppies. Beethoven's owners' children found out about them. Unfortunately Missy's owner, who is a horrible person, wants to use them in divorce bargaining. The Newtons take the puppies. Missy's owner catches up to them. She almost gets the puppies but the Newtons foil her plan for the divorce bargaining. They keep the puppies, which turn into huge Saint Bernards. Overall, this is a regular cue film. It is as just as good as the first, which was also a cute family film. I actually enjoyed the first one just a bit more than this one but if you really get down to the small details, they are pretty much the same. I also found the ending of Beethoven's 2nd a lot like the original. I also like the fact that the sequels' titles are just like the composer Beethoven's symphony. Anyway, this is a cute film that is at least worth a rental, but it is good enough to buy, only if you really enjoyed it.6/10Recommended Films: Beethoven.

CAUTION: Not a real spoiler, the spoiler is only the beginning so read ahead until * This is a great movie with more dog scenes, but there is still a thicker plot. I think it is much better than the first and until i saw the 3-5th movie on IMDb i didn't know they existed. The movie has great scenes of ADORABLE puppies. The plot is great with a story line little kids can follow and older kids can relate. *Beethoven and Missy (his girlfriend) are cute and the puppies are cuter. There are many things that will keep any age kids attracted and the growing up puppy scenes are GREAT! Moe is the funniest and chaikowski is the cutest (although they all are cute)
