As a fan of Albert Camus and Jean-Luc Godard, teenage Nick Twisp is definitely out of his element when his mother and her boyfriend move the family to a trailer park. When a pretty neighbor named Sheeni plays records by French crooners, it's love at first sight for frustrated and inexperienced Nick. Learning that she is dating someone, Nick launches a hilarious quest to find his way into Sheeni's heart -- and bed.

Another film with Michael Cera as a somewhat odd and misfit teenager. Despite being 21 here, Cera still make you believe he's 16.With "Youth in Revolt", frequent TV series director Miguel Arteta - assisted by screenwriter Gustin Nash and C.D. Payne, author of the original novel - delivers a fun, weird and heart- warming little romantic comedy-drama. Appearances by Zach Galifianakis, Justin Long, Ray Liotta and Steve Buscemi add to the sense of strange humour, but the film really belongs to Cera and his special charm.

This film was very very enjoyable, and told the story of teenage romance, and teenage stories.Although the story is quite unbelievable, I still enjoyed it very much, and found it quite humorous. I would definitely watch this film again, because it is one of those films which really make you laugh and how stupid teenagers can be. Not only did I (a teenager myself) enjoy this film - but the adults in the house did too! If you are looking for a funny, silly story then watch this, for sure!Enjoyable, and highly rated film, telling a story of love, chasing, teenage mishappening and overall madness!

I was more than a little surprised with "Youth in Revolt", especially because I thought it to be just another mainstream late-teenage comedy like so many others in that genre. However, the storyline in the movie is good, spiced up with the right amount of absurdity, comedy and awkward moments. This is not really the type of comedy that will have you laughing from start to end of the movie, but it uses comedy well and at the right moments. And yes, this is a late-teen comedy, but there is so much more to the movie than just teenagers getting drunk and trying to get laid. There are many levels to this movie, so there is something for just about everyone. What is more impressive is the people on the cast list. As always, then Michael Cera did a spot on job with his role in the movie. But the entire movie was just filled with great actors and actresses and great names: Steve Buscemi, Jean Smart, Zach Galifianakis, Fred Willard, Ray Liotta, Justin Long, M. Emmet Walsh, and more."Youth in Revolt" is a great and refreshing movie if you haven't already seen it. I found it by sheer luck in a second hand store and bought it as part of a bundle deal. I was impressed with the movie, and was thoroughly enjoying it and entertained by it.

Michael Cera is a great actor, and this movie is no different. Youth in Revolt is more subtle than you would think, given the title and premise. Nick is a 16 year old with not many friends, a screwed up family, and worst of all, he is a virgin. Upon meeting Sheeni, he falls in love with her instantly, and will do anything to be with her. This involves creating an alter ego, and becoming an outlaw. My only real complaint is that it seemed to me that they put just enough F-words in this to get it rated R. The swearing could have been cut down to make this PG-13, to appeal to a broader audience. This is a simple teen comedy, but adults will like it too, it's very well written with a good plot, good actors that fit their characters, and plenty of laughs. Check it out, you won't regret it.
