Young urban couple Ed and Sarah are set to begin a new life when they move from London into an isolated borders Scottish farmhouse. After falling in love with the 19th century Castle Farm and seeing its potential as a fixer-upper they are anxious to get started on the renovations. In bed on their first night Sarah thinks she can hear noises in the darkness but Ed is disbelieving saying it’s her imagination playing tricks. Persisting in her fear they are not alone in the house, she forces Ed to investigate. When he doesn’t return after a scarily long period, she goes downstairs to investigate only to be confronted by a welcoming committee of masked intruders. As she desperately searches for Ed, a terrifying game of cat and mouse ensues with the mysterious assailants. But what do they want and what horrors do they have planned for the two newcomers?

Everytime I stay over in Scotland, I get scared I might wake up in the middle of Manchester now

Four stars for the beginning which has suspense. Then as soon as the pig men arrive it heads downhill and finishes with a ridiculous ending. So: the Scots hate the English so much they want to stop them buying farms. That's clear. But, the couple murder one of the pig men and probably maim another one, yet no action is taken. The couple are bound up and dropped in Altrincham, England. So am I to take it that the couple can't go to the Scottish police because they're English? Perhaps this is set after some form of Scottish independence? They bought the house and farm buildings. So suddenly they no longer own them just because they've been dropped (by force) back in England? There is no explanation (apart from the implied hatred of the English) as to why the pig men are doing what they are doing. A boss is referred to, but that's left completely unexplained. Who is the boss? The First Minister? A local major landowner? The Queen? This could have been so much more, but it's almost as if someone started writing this, got tired of it, and gave it to someone incompetent to finish it.

It's Sarah and Ed's first night in their new home in the Scottish countryside. Coming from the City they had a lot of money to invest in a property that the people from the surrounding area could not afford themselves. It's a beautiful setting and the movie portrays an air of the supernatural but that's a red herring. It's actually a home invasion type movie. The two main characters are absolutely awful from the start. Sarah is the most irritating character I think I have ever come across! The relationship between Sarah and Ed doesn't feel believable at all, there's no chemistry, no closeness that you would expect to see in a couple moving into a new home. Sarah is a nagging, selfish and irritating woman, if I was Ed I would have let her move to Scotland by herself. As they go to bed on their first night Sarah is unnerved and hears noises. She pesters poor Ed to death and ends up outside where they find a random pig. After going back in the house Sarah hears yet more noises and again nags Ed to death to go investigate. The poor man does and doesn't come back. So then she goes looking for him. What follows is one of the most intense cat and mouse games ever. It's such as shame that the two main characters are so badly written because the baddies and the stalking going on is/are brilliant. I couldn't bear to watch half the time.I liked the ending, you couldn't have predicted it.

Yet another predictable, been done a thousand times, no story, no depth pile of rubbish. I am so sick of these films, like I say, been done a thousand times before already and soooooo much better. Utterly pointless film, you'll figure it out in the first five minutes and don't sit there hoping for any 'surprises' there aren't any. Ridiculous ending, actually, the film is just full of holes. I endured it to the end and it was then I decided to write this review, I want to save others from the pain!!!!!Don't waste your time watching it, watching paint dry is more entertaining.
