That infamous whale is bigger, badder and a whole lot stronger in this sci-fi reimagining of Herman Melville’s classic tale of the battle between man, sea and sea creature starring “Xena” alum Rene O’Connor as the (traditionally male) narrator. But the boat — now a high-tech submarine — is also bigger, and Capt. Ahab is as determined as ever to settle the score and take down the mighty sea mammal that maimed him.

I am just glad that Herman Melville is not alive to see what they have done to his immortal tale of Ahab and his White Whale. I thought the film went over the top when they were using names like Ahab and Moby Dick, but when they added the character names of Starbuck, Queg Qheg, what really got me was the name of the submarine, U.S. S. Pequod, now that is just a little much. I am just glad that Herman Melville has been dead for over 100 years or he may come back from the grave and let us know what he thinks. At least they didn't have a character named Ishmael.Still, as bad as that is, I find the film compelling, maybe that's because I have such a craving for a stupid horror film. It's worth a watch if you don't expect too much from the film.

Other than Renee O'Connor in a bikini top, this movie has no redeeming qualities. The entire cast and crew throw all their SAG cards into one pile, tie Barry Bostwick and the director to a stake, and burn the whole lot. I know this kind of movie requires a suspension of disbelief, but this stuff will give you brain cancer !! Other than the first 10 minutes where Renee is parading the bikini top, this movie should be avoided !! How does Bostwick get work?? He has pics of movies execs in the hot tub with some underage action?? And they give Melville a nod as contributing writer. Btw, he has returned from the dead, and he looks mighty mad !!

Depressng that people got paid for this movie. It's one the actors, writers, directors, production crew, script writers, and everyone and anyone who had anything to do with this movie, if you can call it a movie, should save for their friends and families to watch because someone ought to have the courage to tell them its really really really bad.Score of one out of ten is too generous, considering it was 2010 and not 1910 that this movie was made.I rather watch the BLOB or Killer Tomatoes any day.WTF were they thinking?

A movie as awful as this ought to get at least some credit for its sheer awfulness, not unlike "Plan 9 from Outer Space".The story is occasionally interesting, although many spectacularly impossible events occur. The CGI effects are primitive.Regarding allegiance to Melville's famous novel: Perhaps the script writer(s) actually read the "Cliff Notes" for Melville's novel, as evidenced by the character and ship names, and the use of a few quotes by "Captain Ahab".As another reviewer wrote, this monstrosity should be viewed by film students as an example of awfulness.Outside chance: Maybe some young viewers would be inspired to READ THE ACTUAL BOOK?!?
