I am a big fan of Wesley Snipes, and I watched this because he was in it. I thought it had to be a good movie because Wesley Snipes was in it, but this is one of the worst movies I have ever watched. No plot, no story line, and bad acting. I thought that at least Wesley Snipes would make it some what watchable, but his presence did nothing to enhance this movie. I keep watching knowing it would get better after a slow start, but this was not the case. Horrible, do not waste your time.

First off, I am a huge Blade fan. I own them all and watched the final two in the theaters. I actually had a blade stand up in my college apartment(my brother got it from the Blade 2 promotion because he managed a movie theater at the time.) That is how much I like the Blade series!! So, to see Westley Snipes in the Wild West looking oh so Blade like had me pumped. Well pretty much right off the bat you quickly realize that this is no Blade 4. WS still had the look but the movie jumped around excessively and it was one of the most difficult movies I have ever watched when it came to just understanding what was the main character's motivation and what was he fighting against exactly. I gave the movie a 4 because I actually watched it twice because I had so many unanswered questions. During the second viewing I was able to understand just a few of the movies details I had missed during the first watch because there are just things that happen in the story line that do not make sense no matter how many times you watch it.I will just say that the movie had awesome potential and actually had a somewhat original plot. The men WS faces have been described as zombies and they look like vampires except that they really do not have any special abilities or powers. If anything they have a major weakness...they need new skin every week or so. WS's movie mother makes a pact with a devil like being ( no explanation given) to raise him from the dead when he is killed avenging his lover's rapers. But when he kills people some of them come back to life so they hang people from the gallows and then take their skin to wear.I guess my point is that this could have been so much more. If a few changes were made and the movie's editing was not some of the all time worst who knows..it might have been enough to give Snipes' career a real shot in the arm.On a side note it was cool seeing Diamond Dallas Page in the film as the notorious "SkullBucket."

WARNING: THIS REVIEW MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS...Back in the 90's, Wesley Snipes could do no wrong. He was an action star headlining major Blockbusters like Passenger 57, Demolition Man, and Rising Sun to name a few... Somewhere along the line, it all started to go downhill and in my opinion, it started with the Blade franchise. By the third Marvel entry, Snipes was demoted to a co-star, the film killed the franchise, and that was the last studio film we saw Snipes release. What followed were a string of low budget, overseas action films like Unstoppable, Art of War 2, and Game of Death. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed most of them for what they were and I'm a huge fan of Snipes, so when I first heard of Gallowwalkers, I got really excited. I mean the premise was killer. A gunfighter killing the undead... What could go wrong? It turns out... Everything... The film sat on the shelf for 5 years and I finally watched it after all that time. While there were moments of "what could have been", the film was certainly dismal at best. My biggest problem with the film is that it certainly had the resources to be great, sweeping deserts, sets that were built by hand, great wardrobe, great locations... The only problem was the story felt very botched and most of what is seen in the film seemed to be footage that was shot to fill up the running time and Mr. Snipes, as good as he was in the parts he was in, wasn't present enough throughout to keep the viewer interested. (I'm assuming this is due to his legal troubles at the time). The story generally followed a younger apprentice and a bunch of odd characters. As I said, it's worth a watch if you need to kill some time or you're just a hardcore Snipes fan like me, but if you're looking for something edgy and intriguing, this is not it. I give it a 4 out of 10.

No content but some boring gore. Seems like they tried to make it visually interesting but failed. Long time since time was this wasted for me. I thought it could be an intetesting theme but 2/3 in I finally understood I was fooled. We doesn't even get to know any of the characters. There is a bad guy and a good guy but you really don't care about how it ends. Acting comes down to "trying to look cool no matter what" all movie long. Not even the few action scenes are any cool. You will regret watching it even If you are into both Western and zombies. It simply doesn't deliver anything. It's more interesting to sit and wait for nothing on a non confortable chair.
