This lot have to be the worst hunters on the planet. How hard can it be to shoot a big bear yet time and again they keep missing with a clear shot and also at point blank range too. Also this bear displays skills like a ninja the way it keeps sneaking up on people without being seen and disappearing into the shadows when it's in trouble. Trust me you'll be tearing your hair out at how annoying this movie is!

Ever so often you encounter one of those 'hidden pearls'. With those I mean movies you have never heard about before, which weren't hyped by the big marketing machine of Hollywood. This, in my most humble opinion, is truly one of them.I tell you honestly, I started watching this movie by the lack of something else to watch, but my oh my. This movie has left me hanging on the edge of my seat from the beginning to the end.The cinematography in this movie is truly magnificent. I guess the absolute stunning environment made that a bit easier. The action scenes are breath taking. Without spoiling anything, there were multiple moments in the movie that I myself truly felt as if I was being followed / hunted by a bear.I have no clue if there were real bears used for this movie or not, but if the case is that they were not, then I believe we have finally reached the point where CGI can't be distinguished from reality anymore. That bear was one big bad mother! The good part about this movie is that you understand both sides, or at least I did. You get people, who want to survive. You get the bear that ... well does what it does for the reason it does it, because I don't want to spoil anything. The movie has an awesome cast. This is one of those movies that has you pause it from time to time saying 'Hey I know him/her'. It has a lot of established names like James Marsden (cyclops from X-men), Thomas Jane (who I have loved since Deep Blue Sea), Scott Glenn (Backdraft) and of course BillyBob Thornton, although I had to literally pause the movie to check IMDb if I was seeing that correct. To me (and of course, to you it could be totally different), this was a breathtaking experience through everything this beautiful earth has to offer us (including nature, animals and love). And I truly, truly enjoyed it.

Greetings from Lithuania."Into the Grizzly Maze" (2014) is a very predictable but at the same time entertaining flick if you don't hope for a great movie. It has surprisingly great cast who did a uniformly good job in this flick. This picture is rated R - it is bloody and has some visceral scenes. The plot is very simple and predictable, but this flick isn't about the plot - it is about a grizzly man killer, so as you guest it won't win any Oscars or other awards in here.Overall, if you will skip "Into the Grizzly Maze" you won't loose anything. But if you will see it, first of all lower your expectations and just enjoy the ride, because this flick delivers what is promises and nothing more. At running time 1 h 23 min it never drags and very well paced. Locations are truly beautiful, add a great cast and very simple but kinda griping story and you will have some nice time watching this flick.

This movie attempted to be a bit different, they opted to make a realistic horror. A sleepy town is terrorised by a savage Grizzly bear. It's kind of like a Bear version of Jaws. It's carnage in the forest, body parts start appearing, the powers that be realise quickly that the miscreant is a bear, not just any bear, it's a smart and clever unique bear! I'd almost go so far as to say a criminal mastermind and king of subterfuge. A small team consisting of two estranged brothers, A Sheriff, his deputy. The most interesting character being Michelle, a girl out photographing in the woods and happens to be deaf. The best thing about the film has to be the visuals, they were never going to fail with the shots of the landscapes, seriously beautiful, almost awe inspiring. Some of the effects are good, some of them are a bit amateur. The shots of the bear not attacking are great, they are glorious animals who couldn't enjoy those (Salmon I guess.) It's some of the attack scenes that look a wee bit dodgy, as viewers I guess we expect so much. There are lots of tense moments, you are waiting for the Bear to appear and you never know when, but some of the scenes with long drawn out dialogues seem to go on forever.Interesting finale, the Bear decides not to rip his victims apart in seconds, but to make a meal out of it.The acting is mixed I'd have to say, James Marsden is a cut above, he us pretty good, the film was a surprising choice I guess, but good on him for doing something not mainstream. Billy Bob Thornton does a good job at making his character rather nauseating, but he's as much screen time as he perhaps should have been. Some of the lesser parts aren't great, some of the Sheriff's team seem like they've wandered into the film. It's a bit of furry fun. 6/10
