I can't claim that reading the synopsis on the back of this DVD cover did much to spur any interest. But what did catch my interest was Peter Stomare and Mila Kunis. That being said, then this is a very campy and predictable movie. The story is about a correctional youth camp located in the remote Fiji islands, where parents send troublesome kids in order to get their kids back on the right track. The Island is run by Normal Hail (played by Peter Stomare). As the troublesome youngsters progress through the program they earn a new colored shirt indicating where they are on the ladder to recovery. But just what is going on at the correctional boot camp? The storyline itself was entertaining enough for what it was. Just don't expect anything extraordinary, and prepare yourself for a very predictable ride.It was Peter Stomare who singlehandedly carried this movie, and everyone else were just riding along in his wake."Boot Camp" is a less than mediocre experience. And it is difficult to come up with anything to recommend why you should sit down and watch this movie.

I kind of found the concept interesting. But the person who made this, focus a bit too much on the girls. Not to mention that he/she has never heard about lord of the fliesBut the movie goes a long way with showing what a bunch of mindless sheep humans are. The realty is that you wouldn't be able to run a camp like this without some reporter snooping around either by air or land. I don't give a crap if it's located in Fiji someone would poke around. **spoilers*****spoilers**spoilers**** I also found it a bit stupid that while they are walking in line, they are discussing escape plan while the other clearly can hear them. Not to mention that when the boyfriend end up on the island there is no "pretend to get know" the girlfriend he Gonna rescue, it's more like: hi nice seeing you again. Lets not forget that everyone with half a brain know that if you got a small boat, you cross the waves diagonally not head on. And when they finally escape they take in to a motel, instead of getting as far away as they can. They actually deserved to get caught. They're so stupid they should have stayed on the island. Another thing, you get accesses to garden tool but you don't kill your capturer. There are somewhat 4 guards on what 50 children? Any body told you about strength in numbers?? Let's not forget that when ever someone is in the circle they don't fight back, they just take it.If it wasn't for the fact that i know Mila uses a body double i might have giving a 2.But it still sucks to much for more than one

I rated this movie a 6 due to the content. I truly believe this movie should have been made, and I commend the ones who did. It truly broke my heart, seeing as though it's a true story, making it all the more disturbing. I hope that people that are considering sending their child/teen to a place such as this one. I think all the actors did a pretty good job portraying the characters that the movie is about. I just can't believe that this movie is around 3 years old and I haven't heard of it. It's kind of bothersome to me because this movie truly needs recognition, it needs to be out there for more people to see. Parents and guardians really need to do their homework on these type of places before sending ANYONE they truly care about! Thanks for the movie, I really hope people heed the warning the comes from this film!

Not really sure why it was categorized as a suspense/thriller... there was nothing suspenseful or thrilling about it at all. The beginning was a bit slow, and to be honest, it didn't really pick up until the last thirty minutes or so. I think the only reason I kept watching was because I knew it was based on actual events, and that compelled me to continue. It was very 'Island of Dr. Moreau'-esque. I didn't really make that connection until about two-thirds through the movie, but once I did, there was no denying the parallels. It's almost as if it was a cross between 'The Island of Dr. Moreau' and 'Hotel Rwanda,' as disturbing as that sounds. It had the same general plot line as IoDM but also with the same sense of candidness that was in HR. Like I said... disturbing... especially when you consider that it's based on real events.
