A London gangster awakes in a remote, old fashioned town in Italy after a serious and life threatening altercation in a nightclub and is forced to ponder his past. The audience is always ahead of the slow moving story which makes for laborious viewing. I wondered if we were in for a remake of "Ghost" but instead a very predictable plot unfolds. Flashbacks don't assuage the feeling. We just get more characters, some non-actors and drivel as backstory. The film wastes talent like Ray Winstone who is left to chew up the scenery to awful redundancy playing a ridiculous wastrel. We don't even get closure. The only characters we are left to get behind play a minor part. The soundtrack is conspicuously contrived, and of low credibility. The only thing going for it is the locations. Otherwise, it is a simple melodrama littered with foul-mouth dialogue, cynically packaged as a high octane gangster thriller.

As usual I saw Ray Winstone and thought oh sounds a good film, boy was I wrong Most of her film is set in Italy following Glen Murphy's character walking about fields and tight streets meeting an Italian cafe owner and getting involved in his granddaughters English boyfriend meetings but no one really sees him only this old man, Ray plays Glens dad and is a nasty piece of work this is in flashbacks .I couldn't make sense of this film it was too boring but I think Glen's character is actually dead and that's why no one sees him except the old man who I think is his grandad or great grandad I don't know blooming awful and a waste of time.

British movies when made good are VERY good, some of the best. However the flip side to this coin is when they make bad ones, they make them REALLY REALLY bad. This film is the latter! I am seeing this a lot now but come on, making a fake profile on IMDb to write a fake review of the film and give it 9 stars, yes that means you concierge-932-781144 (cast or crew was you as you like bigging up the this fact that they was excellent), a member for 5 days then you chose this to review? The film is utter rubbish, and I mean it. So much so I can not be bothered writing anything more about it. Go and watch paint dry its more entertaining.

Totally misleading title and description. If,like me,you see Ray Winstone and like the sound of the title do yourself a huge favour and steer well clear of this movie. It thinks it's very clever but it's far from it.Actually now that I'm sitting here about to describe how bad it is,words fail me so I'm going to recommend that you watch it then you can share my pain. It's about 90 minutes of your life that you will never ever, ever get back. The acting I can't fault and the setting is lovely but nothing can save this movie.Slow and boringly paced, lack of direction, decent idea but badly executed.I could go on but I have stuff to do for the next couple of days.
