Steve, a young professional snowboarder, ruins a high-paying photo shoot by playing a silly prank. He, his girlfriend Branka and fellow snowboarder Joschi are left behind on the mountain. They seek shelter in an après-ski tavern that is hosting an all-night party. Things go from bad to worse when a scientific experiment unleashes an epidemic of zombies and mutant wildlife. This is mostly lost on the local drunkards, as they are not always easy to distinguish from zombies themselves. But Steve, Branka and Joschi have to find a way to survive this hellish night.

Arriving at an Austrian ski-resort, a film-crew looking to film a documentary on their friend finds that the owners' attempt to liven up their lackluster season has inadvertently unleashed a zombie apocalypse in the area and must use their extreme sports skills to get away. This here is one of the finer zombie comedies around. One of the finer aspects of this one is the unbridled sense of fun this one has with the overall presentation here. Starting with the ludicrous concept that exposes the point of this one at the beginning, this one takes its concept and runs with it as it sells this goofy sense of humor that has the group attempting a sales-pitch to a client visibly foaming at the mouth from an accident, the skier coming up to a preteen admirer in the nude or the endless one-liners that spring up about them being stuck in this situation. The meta-ness of the situation gives this some more to like as well, from the ability to recognize their plight and the different matter of tactics they employ to get away feature a nice amount of cleverness in dealing with the zombies. Since the zombie outbreak is handled early on here with the change occuring during the middle of the dance party as the infected weaves through the crowd slowly turning the others into the infected which starts this off with plenty of fun as they deal with the seriousness of the zombie outbreak in humorous manners, From the attack in the bathroom where they lead the creatures into the stall next door to their attempt to escape a horde using a nearby sign and the ambushes out in the woods where they not only find the rabid woodland creatures but also the few zombies out in the wilderness where it showcases the one true manner of stalling their advances. That clever tactic is put to fine use in the final half where it details their exploits against the creatures inside the tavern where it all comes through with a series of spectacular humorous battles with the creatures that effectively ties in their snowboarding skills to help finish off the creatures which piles on numerous practical gore effects for the zombies to get dismembered and torn up in creative fashion that brings about plenty to like in the splatter sequences. These all combined give this enough to hold it up over it's one minor flaw as there's no way even Rated Unrated/R: Extreme Graphic Violence, Graphic Language and Brief Nudity.

Steve Olsen (Laurie Calvert) is a hot dog snow boarder who jumps out of a helicopter as a start. He decides to undress and come to the finish line naked as Anna, a young fan in wheel chair awaits to meet him, in what becomes a very awkward greeting. Steve loses his girlfriend Branka (Gabriela Marcinková) as well as his sponsorship. They get stranded on the mountain. Meanwhile in a subplot green florescent liquid is used to create artificial snow. A Russian investor gets a face full of it and we pretty much know the rest. The film had humor as well as blood and guts. It had a few new things like the stuck zombie. Rita (Margarete Tiesel) was a hoot. Much of the film was basic formula and typical zombie stuff.Guide: F-word. No sex. Male butt nudity.

What an awful film. I have no idea what other reviewers are thinking, anyone would think this was to the zombie spoof genre what Godfather was to gangster films. I did not laugh once and the gore and special effects were worse than a Sinbad film. The only thing worth watching in the film was Gabriela Marcinkova who is extremely beautiful. Avoid at all costs.

A worth addition to the zombie spoof genre, Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies does a fantastic job of retaining the theatricality of slasher films and blending it with colorful twists that I thought were both unique and fun. The heroes are a ragtag trio of snowboarders whose chemistry is something I haven't seen in many movies before. The plot takes a thrilling turn as the gang finds themselves trapped on the Alps in a log cabin bar surrounded by zombies poisoned by a rogue science experiment. They then must devise imaginative ways of battling the undead as they try to make it to safety. The movie does not fall short on its graphic scenes of decapitation and laceration. Though I am not usually a big fan of slasher films, the violent scenes were done in an entertaining and classic horror way. And I loved how all of it was paired with catchphrase dialogue, slapstick fun and solid character development. A surprisingly lighthearted comedy punctuated by timeless zombie graphics, Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies was a good choice when I was looking for an easy and entertaining watch.
