American Poltergeist (2015)

I watch a lot of horror flicks on netflix. And I truly found this movie to be very scary and very entertaining. Right off I connected with each character. I thought they all acted their parts very genuinely and believably. Like all good horror films it was impossible, at least for me, to anticipate what was coming next. I especially liked the nice touch at the end when the heroine texted her brother that they had sent the wrong twin "back to hell." I also liked the strange, unexpected noises that you would expect a poltergeist to make. Most often authors do not allow ghosts to have personalities. These two twin ghosts not only showed their emotions and personalities, but also tried to communicate with humans. And if the humans had truly listened to the one twin instead of being so judgmental, they would have sent the right ghost "back to hell." I would give this film five stars. And I cannot for the life of me understand why most if not all of the other reviews on this site are so negative. I would certainly recommend this film to anyone who loves horror and the supernatural!!!

I do try and give low budget movies the benefit of the doubt, but this movie was just too horrible. First off, the lady who owned the house was the absolute actress ever. I even stopped the movie just to look up if Tara Reid was playing the role. And then, the overall storyline was just so weird that I just couldn't take it. The dialogue was probably written by a high schooler who was trying to write out their fantasy of being a college student living in a haunted house with all their friends. I'll save you the time and tell you to NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS MOVIE

I was super excited when this movie started. It was about Lizzie Borden and I'm a huge fan. Around the 10min mark this movie started looking like a porno. Not really sure if it was the casting, the filming, maybe both? I was like sure let's do this I haven't seen an adult film in a while. There were several moments when I just knew the next scene had to be the start of the "actual" film. Some moments of anticipation were when the older lady too the girl upstairs to "explain" some things to her. I knew I had seen this one before. Wrong. Nothing happened. Then the party started and I thought surely this is where it gets good. Nope. Not this time either. Then the cop shows up when all the ghost stuff is happening. This has got to be it I thought to myself. Nada. All in all it was an alright movie. I just expected some "more". And that moment never came.OK. I'm about to watch the sequel. I'll keep you posted.

Well, what can one say about such a promising title, other than that's were the film peaked with its title. Only way I'd watch this is if it was free or came as a free gift in a packet of breakfast cereal Didn't even register a point to score. Probably the worst film I've seen since.......well it is the worst film I've ever had the misfortune to endure.The actors and actresses should have at least been told how to act. I've seen better directing and cinematics at a pre-school nativity play. If after this you're thinking about giving it a go, I'd say no don't waste your life
