I have made no secret of disliking a lot of movies that air on the SyFy channel, but seeing as I have seen some good disaster movies in the past. Ice Twisters is not the worst I've seen on that channel by a long shot, however it is a very bad movie. The film does have some nice locations/sets, the concept was somewhat interesting and Ryan Kennedy was decent. But that's it. The script may have been corny and derivative, the story predictable with so many unrealistic elements to it, the direction lethargic, the pace dull, scenes ending abruptly with few suspenseful or dramatic build ups and the acting especially from the very bland lead patchy, but it is the special effects that bring the film down, most of them such as the ice twisters themselves look ridiculously fake. In conclusion, not a good movie. 3/10 Bethany Cox

Warning: This is not a review of the movie, it's more like a complaint of just how bad Hollywood can pick it's actors.I really could have handled the mediocre CGI effects, the HIGHLY unrealistic plots. Really, it's almost expected in a disaster movie that something's bound to be off. I've never heard/seen any that have been perfect. But my dear god, what made me want to hit my head against a wall was Mark Moses's acting. I don't know if he took his role as a know-it-all science fiction author a little too far or something, but this was really the worst acting I've seen, hands down. *SPOILER*SPOILER*SPOILER*When Charlie Price's (played by Mark Moses) daughter dies, he just stands there. No sign of the world crashing down on him. Nope, this dude just throws his jacket over her and proceeds to "comfort" his devastated love interest. Even Joane (Camille Sullivan) shows more grief for his daughter than he does. The only thing he does is cover his face, probably to hide his embarrassment at how bad he was acting. *END SPOILER*END SPOILER*Like a fellow reviewer m-qasimraza said, I also went on here just to write this, going through the trouble of finding out my lost password just to log into IMDb. The movie could have easily been OK, no other worries/complaints than what other disaster movies do, but this guy just topped it.Honestly, the movie is watchable. Just slap your hand over Mark Moses's face on the screen and mute the sound every time he appears and you'll be good to go. I really hope, for the sake of all the TV shows he's apparently made an appearance on, that he'll improve his acting skills. *SPOILER* Oh, and pretend you believe that satellites up in space can be hacked and controlled into heating up the Earth in a matter of hours. *END SPOILER*POST-NOTE: Ryan Kennedy's acting was a temporary relief from Moses. He was good. Seriously, I don't know how he managed it when his character was doing pretty crazy, unrealistic stuff, but props for achieving that.

*Spoiler* I picked this movie up from my local library. Having never heard anything about it and really only getting it because the cover looked interesting and no other movies grabbed my attention at that time I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw. Some of the graphics could have been better yes but still a good movie as disaster movies go. I came to like the main character Charlie and was saddened a bit when he found his assistant dead. It pulled me in, gained my interest, and made me enjoy the entire move. What I was expecting from this movie was some home grown movie off of syfi channel that not only looked bad but was completely uninteresting to watch. This movie is not any of that and don't just take my word for it, watch it yourself.

Worth A Watch!! This film does not fail to deliver, with action from the word go. I watched and was gripped the whole way through. Wondering what was going to happen next. Yes some parts were predictable, but in today's film industry, what film isn't? I will watch this film again and again, there are some great one-liners. I think this is a film that you need to watch to make your own decision as it will probably not appeal to everybody. The effects in the film were fantastic and allow you to really get a feel for what is going on in the movie, without potentially over-dramatising the action. The actors done a great job of portraying the events at hand and kept the movie believable throughout. Personally I loved this film and would recommend it to anyone.
