When this movie first came out, I was noting some pretty negative reviews/ratings for this sadly executed production. I was thinking "haters ..."Well, Storm Reid is excellent in the child lead. Everything else about this movie seems forced and/or stilted and/or fluffy shock. This is a film I wanted to defend and wanted to like. My "5" rating is a little on the generous side. Folks, you can "iron out" a lot of wrinkles. Not in this case. This wrinkle is a rather permanent waste of time; hence, my word "Wraste."
One of the best movies I have seen by far, I really wanted a move that is so deep in the brilliance of our universe. But to be understood, people need to be more open and to have more knowledge about so many aspects of our beings. Maybe a lot of people are still in their own limitations that they can't comprehend such Devine explanation for our own inner world and what happens inside of our soul in relevance to what happens outside and How our perception about ourselves matters.
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle contains not only great thoughts on reality but a wonderful story. Her overtly Christian theology was exchanged for trite universalism. It could've been wonderful, but Disney ruined this masterpiece. The story only vaguely resembles the book and has a few quotes. L'Engle is certainly rolling over in her grave.
The most boring movie I have seen. What a disappointment.
