If you watched many of those 80's and 90's sci-fi movies and enjoyed them, you'll like manborg. Just remember to watch it with a huge bowl of popcorn and some home made lemonade :)Sure CGI can be really useful and very interesting, but nowadays it's being misused and abused (like spending 5000 U$ to make a dog poo or a flying fruit). Manborg is really a very good bad sci-fi film, and a reminder of how good and amusing practical effects are. Back in the day watching movies with crappy effects was not an option, and watching manborg makes me realize that the crappy effects where part of the show, they add to the entertainment(KUNG FURY and Machete are more examples). So many good crappy movies that filled my childhood with fun and leave fond memories, like Screamers, Hardware, The Fly Krull, Cocoon, Robocop, Mad Max, Rutger Hauer movies, Aliens, Terminator and even Star Wars( the first one was low budget) and so many others. If they were made nowadays and with low budget CGI they most definitely would not be as good, fun and memorable. Long live the "good" cheap made and with crappy old fashion effects movies like manborg :) YAY

What can I say for MANBORG I loved it..It reminded me of the good old days of late night cable TV on a Friday night with your buddies over drinking beer and eating popcorn and enjoy good cheesy B Horror/Sci Fi movies of the 1980's.Right away I was hooked.. Story, characters,Plot interesting direction special effects very cool.. I am happy to see that the filmmakers can have fun making something that they love .. Yes it's cheesy and not up to standards of today so called Grandier filmmaking It's not supposed to be.. Its all about fun and making something you love and the filmmakers showed that B movies are still around Congrats..

this is epic, its everything in the VHS /early 90s era of film and displayed brilliantly, this film is inspirational!. the characters are constructed very well, the Asian character(number one man) dubbed and dressed like lui kang!, the cocky character straight out of the lost boys and the beautiful Minna.. a bad ass.! the dialog is phenomenal and is guaranteed to make you laugh over and over, the baron steels the show! the visuals are brilliant ranging from well executed green screen and some sort of stop motion.. think of ed 209 from robocop, this is how most of the unearthly characters move and to great effect..manborg himself is epic, his scene with doctor Scorpius is my favorite of the movie.please watch with a light heart and enjoy and appreciate just what the makers have achieved

It doesn't try to be anything but what it is which is a high cheese fun movie to watch. There no i am a serious actor doing Shakespeare moments where you can see the others actors wincing and thinking pay me so i can get away from this guy.It was friends making a low budget movie that entertaining to watch.Jeremy Gillespie had a surprisingly good sense of comedic timing as the love struck baron.Think low budget, decent affects but not industrially lights and magic and people who enjoy what they are doing.Seriously this is miles ahead of rob zombie's movies and had budgets and big name actors. Sorry Rob but to his credit he has gotten better.
