The Task (2011)

Anybody feel like getting demon possessed today and damning their eternal soul to torment in the fire of hell? this is the movie for you. Have at it.

So I went into watching this film, thinking it'll be a great original horror film. I was wrong. It's not an original concept, it's like a saw/fear rip off. It did have a few scares in and was original in the sense of the flesh eating vampire/cannibals. It was well written to an extent. The cast's acting complimented each other, and the characters fit together like a glove. The location looked great with the film, I's love to visit there myself! All in all, you should watch it yourself, to get your own opinion, you might like it. I think it's the kind of film, which would only be watched the once, not several times. @RebeccaKLxo

The Task has a task on its own: to entertain you. Will the task be a complete failure? Oh, I don't know, I suppose that depends on how you like your horror movies. Do you like a lot of the 'cut-em-up' Friday The 13th style horror films? Sorry, but The Task is not that kind of film. It's more of a psychological game, and I mean that literally. Random people are kidnapped on the streets, into a van, beyond their will. Turns on these people aren't random, they all signed up for a TV game show, and they won their spot at a chance to win a great deal of money...20,000 dollars! Or was it 25,000 dollars? People, it doesn't matter, this isn't 25,000 Dollar Pyramid we're playing here...they're going to put you up against your fear. If you're afraid of the dark, they're going to probably trap you in a dark place somewhere in the prison. Oh, did I mention they were being locked overnight in a prison, an abandoned prison where terrible things happened? No? Well, that's exactly it: Trapped in a maybe haunted prison. Still want the money? You know, saving money and not spending it worked for years for me...no need for a game show! And how do they know what your fears are? Probably because you told them in your pre-screening tapings in the beginning. Silly willies! So, the whole movie should keep you on edge...is it really a game, or is someone messing with someone just to get some extra viewers? Is it really haunted? Who's who? What's what. The movie is filled with so much mystery! Sound sarcastic? Give it a look, I'm giving it 5 out of 10, it's halfway there. It's more then I can say for the other half...you movies know who you are.

LOVED THE IDEA! Yes I know its been done before, but as a horror fan I live in hope a movie will deliver the jumps and scares like they used to when I was growing up in the 80's! This movie is without a doubt the worst 'attempted' horror I have seen in a long time. The acting is wooden, and thats being polite, the 'jump' factor is nil, and the general gore and story line? NON EXISTENT. Horror fans will love the idea of it, but believe me u will be disappointed. I am amazed that someone made this, looked back on it and though "Wow what a great horror film." Like many horror fans it takes a lot nowadays to scare people, this film wouldn't scare my 7 year old nephew.
