I simply will always support Local Film Makers and all others Associated with the Australian Film industry, This Movie I watched with great enjoyment as it was simply Aussie and the Harsh Comments given by Others should take a minute to think about the People who created this Film who put their Heart and Soul into it, they tried to simply create enjoyment for us, So I think tonight I might go Home after a day of work headaches and Watch Boar for a Third Time because there was some funny Lines from some of the Cast that made Me Laugh so thank you My Boar DVD will take Pride in My Collection of Aussie Movies cannot wait for the Sequel Hint Hint !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't written a review for some time. Primarily as I am not skilled in writing reviews. I can only tell you what I like or despise. This is the former. I liked this enjoyable monster movie, with some special, natural acting performances. OK Boar is far from perfect, but if you take it for what it is- a fun creature feature, then there is much to enjoy. While not scary, it delivers gore and has practical special effects that fans who are sick of CGI will enjoy. The monster or Bore looks as scary as a Dragon at a Chinese New Year celebration, but I think this adds to the B- movie charm. The dialogue and acting is particular good from the older actors and seems very natural. I just loved the two older characters who discover the bodies, It is a refreshing change to see older people stalked and possibly slashed by a monster. Many movies nowadays have teenagers played by 20 somethings getting killed by doing silly things. At times during this movie it is hard to know who may be the protagonists. characters are introduced and killed shortly afterwords. Many cliches abound like - Anyone having sex, will die gruesomely, buy hay? Creature fans and B movie fans should like this, and I look forward to watching a possible sequel. 8/10

BOAR is a great Australian movie : its a CREATURE FEATURE folks - not GHANDI or SHINDLERS LIST... The Australian film industry is now near non-existent.. And Chris SUN is leading the charge in Australia to produce SOMETHING!!! And that is a great thing. Its easy to sit back and critique ... try and make a damn movie.. especially in Australia where film funding is a brown-paper-bag of non existent cash for projects.. The legendary films of Australia from the 80s (Mad Max, etc) are not being made here now.... sad... Horror films here ( Im Australian , living in Australia ;) are in SHORT supply ... America turns out some good stuff - but alot of crap too..BOAR is a GREAT movie given the cinematic climate it is being made in.. Ignore the negative reivews : people are entitled to opinions - but Australian horror is a RARE thing and Chris is delivering a good product.. ( I dont know Chris , and am not affiliated in any way - Im just an Aussie Horror fan) Now to the film...Contrary to other opinions - I think the acting is good (ive seen a LOT of Horror movies and seen outrageously worse acting... Pick any Troma film you like.. and i LOVE Troma..The film has a great number of legendary Aussie actors (John Jarrett, Roger Ward, Steve Bisley, Chris Heyward ) legends all of them and they all do what i would expect of them and delighted in watching them .. I mean Roger Ward : Mad Max and Turkey Shoot!!! Excellent! The ladies are also great too : Simone and Melissa are much stronger in BOAR than any of their lightweight TV stuff - In BOAR could see that they actually can act. We are talking a fictional big pig and i thought Simone was great in her "tragedy" scenes.. Nathan Jones : man "get-in-the-ring" love him. and its just him no makeup - loved his contribution.. The film looks great, the sound is crisp and effective ( i only watched it at home) the locations are moody and effective - and the BOAR is great.. I mean c'mon - its a PHYSICAL creation not a complete lame ass CGI effort.. and i challenge anyone to produce a physical creature.. Given the budget and such constraints i think its as good as it could be..In closing if you want to watch a CREATURE FEATURE - BOAR is as good as any you will see - support it !!!!!!

I have been following this very talented man since his first movie and they just keep getting better! A stunning cast, Simone Buchanan was a stand out but I LOVED Bill Mosley and Nathan Jones equally. The story and characters are quintessential Australians. All the interactions and the dialogue were true blue. Could there have been more gore? Probably but still a very enjoyable movie.
