I did not expect much from an unknown horror movie from the 1970:s - but I was so wrong! This movie was rich, beautiful and compelling! Both love, mystery and romance, science and old, old ghosts and superstitions, believable and interesting characters, scenic nature pictures from both above and under water, and wonderful music. It was much more intelligent and multifaceted than most horror movies. The special effects are not bad either, for its time.Leigh McCloskey, of course, has the ideal strong, masculine, bold, blond and blue-eyed Norse God-look for all time. The name Magnus, which is an old royal and noble name in Sweden, was very appropriate! And Connie Sellecca's perfect beauty makes her his perfect match. It would be worth watching this movie only for this perfect young couple - it gives you hope of humanity, in the midst of all the ugly, boring and nondescript people you have around you in your everyday life...

Now everyone and their kids can watch this amazing show again. You can find "Bermuda Depths" free on YouTube and watch the movie in 9 episodes. I saw it last week and fell in love with Jennie Haniver all over again :) The music is also amazing with Vivaldi's "Largo" and that groovy, dreamy song "Jenny" which really takes me back to the time I saw it as a kid. I think I saw it when I was about ten years old and we had a babysitter watching us that Friday night in 1978 when it was aired. Enjoy and let me know what you think. I also recommend a wild horror thriller called "Trilogy of Terror, Amelia" which can be found on YouTube as well.

I am absolutely shocked at how may kids of the 70's this movie has stuck with after all these years! Like everyone else, I was 7 or 8 and never forgot this movie. I've mentioned it in passing several times and always got a crazy look. A movie about sea turtles? I thought I was the only one who remembered the giant sea turtle movie, or maybe I dreamed up the whole thing. Should I ever have the opportunity to see this horribly wonderful movie again, I'm sure I'll ask myself what the amazement with the movie was about in the first place. I'd LOVE to see it again - along with Lucan the wolf boy. Make sure you sign the petition at the website listed in a previous comment!

I don't know why it affected so many people so. I was probably about 7 the first time. Like most, I've remembered it off and on for years, and couldn't remember the title. For some reason, I thought it was "Archelon" Maybe a local station changed it or something. I agree that it echos a lot of the feel to blue lagoon, as well as the unexpectedly creepy feel to "something wicked this way comes" and "the watcher in the woods" that stick with you forever. Perhaps it was the age, but I also remember "filling in" details that were left out, or that would fit the logical holes in the story.Still, I would love to see this film again. I too, signed the petition, and its up to 1,600 something now.
