I was amazed after seeing it on TV last night.Goofy movie with a silly and meaningless history! It is so bad that it's even funny!I just see it with a smile on my face.Bad history,Silly plot,Bad acting. We only learn that the Allgarve have good oranges and is a good tourist place.Who have sponsored such cinematographic foolishness?I put in doubt the degree of maturity of the people responsible for this project.

well, after more or less 5 years in East (Tavira), Middle (Albufeira) and actually near Portimao - Alcalar as a German Vagabondo Lusitano and a piratinho (pirates, not navegators, are the history of Europe, lovely Portugal included, lol, Sir Francis Drake was the best of these criminals, ha ha)I had a lot of fun knowing many of the places in the film too, not yet Zoomarine from inside, ho ho, to watch the film and sent some copies to very good friends in Germany who have been here visiting Maravilhas de Portugal(phantastic facebook page). Of course this film is a little picture of the reality here and still most of this can happen in reality mainly if non Portuguese don't respect the local needs..... Algarve is a tourist destination in spring, summer and early autumn but never in winter - for tourists the nights are to cold and in winter the oranges are not really sweet, ha ha. I love this film and thank for enrichment of my life just unexpected at BLIP this year and later again at the Christmas Market of Arte Algarve in Lagoa and in Mel & Canela (Café at the entrance to Alvor, highly recommended) to get more copies of the film and Christmas cards.... Next future some local Portuguese, but international, friends will get a copy from me as a new years gift. Muito obrigado! Bravo

Where do I start? Well, I have lived in the Algarve for nearly eighteen years and so I was looking for a film that did show something of the life here, I was not disappointed! I loved the portrayal of the local people in the film, really showed the humour of the Portuguese people and the good thing is I think they will find this film very funny too, well, the people sat in the cinema with me were Portuguese and laughed as much as I did. There were some very poignant moments which brought a lump to my throat but at the end of the film I came out thinking what a great all round film it was. The casting was very good and Selenor was so like my very philosophical neighbour who farms goats. Congratulations to all involved, wishing you all the best when it is released globally!

A sincere, light footed funny and visually enticing movie. I came to the movie theatre with a slight fear in my heart for I often find the genre comedy abused by directors who seem to have a 'x jokes per minute quota'. Do they, I wonder. I loved the subtlety of the jokes, and sincerity of the story. Recognizable and therefore credible characters, make for a charming story. Though I must say that the protagonist is a a bit of a blue eyed boy scout and his nemesis is very clearly the bad guy..but then again, they seem to have opposite views of life so it might be befitting. The directors apparent knowledge and love for the Algarve region shines trough the scenes and is highly contagious. The music was very much in tune with the story and helped introducing the Algarve and its inhabitants to the viewer. I've never been there but now it feels as if I have. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
