Even though I do like the movie, I thought there was a lack of story line there where the characters were on top of each other. It may seem that Charlie likes Tim but then he likes Sebastian. Then he cries to go back to Tim and sticks up for Sebastian when themselves & their friends were having Christmas dinner. I have thought about giving this movie a rating of 8 however, I felt the story line should've run smoothly and not give me a few headaches by trying to find out what is gonna happen next?!!! That's why I'm giving this movie a 6!I also think it would've been better if there were even less characters in this, especially the boys annoying wimpy friends. They shouldn't have been on there the first place, it was just pointless having the three friends on this! Anyways the good news is that it's not the "worst" movie I've seen and the sex scenes were well done. I liked the background too that was set in this movie, the film crew did a good job on that. It's a good movie to watch if you wanna kill time!

Excellent film altogether.Loved the boyish drama twists and turns.Appreciate that the script actually maintains continuityIt's also great that it attacks the serious problems looming in the context. It reminded me of 'Dreamers' and I kinda felt that apart from Ursula, the other characters weren't really given any profile or real screen time. They could have actually played some role. One thing though: do they not wear tallit on Rosh haShana in the states?

How come this has only two reviews? And one is from last year, but the site here - it says the movie came out last month?! Anyway. The movie is quite good. I have not watched many gay movies, but those that I did watch were nothing like this. This one is totally normal movie, love story or a love triangle - whatever you choose. There are no gays who commit suicide because of the rejection of the others ( friends, family, close ones) nor there are gays who sleep with everyone around. There are no gays who are dying of aids or some related decease nor there are gays who are feminine / drag queens / over the top personalities. No, these gays are normal as any other ( str8) people. And I think that is the most appealing part of the story / movie. It i s a love story that could happen to anyone. A big plus for making a Lebanese guy gay ( now when muslims and homosexuality are ... ) All three guys from the triangle were believable. Their girl friends were kinda there for no particular reason that adds to the story. Straight friend is there just ... to look good :) And mother is a special one. Kinda cute that ( and of course a cliché ) two gays are artists ( what else can artist be but gay?! ( or mad?!) ) and one is rich spoiled one.But inspite of that ...Eight from me.

The above line, spoken by the mother of one of the film's main characters seems to sum up one of the film's many rather deep messages: Life can kick you in the head, you've got to deal with it with some dignity and respect and be brave enough to move on. OK, so that wasn't as poetic as I'd originally intended, but I'm at a loss for intelligent words on how to describe this incredibly moving film. Written and directed by the preternaturally gifted Joey Kuhn, THOSE PEOPLE is a rare beast in indie "queer" cinema. First, the characters just happen to be gay, the film doesn't revolve around any dramatic revelation in that part of their lives. I can't express how refreshing this is for gay characters to not be traumatized by their sexual orientation. Nobody has AIDS, their parents don't reject them because they're gay, and they're not having a dramatic coming out. Moving beyond that, there are not stereotypical characters, of any sexual orientation. Sure, the group of friends has a "Token straight friend" but there's a single joke there as friends will make and it doesn't go any farther than that. Nobody falls in love with the straight friend, and nobody is tortured by the guy, which is another common story route in movies "like this". Only that's another revelation about this movie. There isn't anything remotely like this, at least that I've seen in recent "queer cinema". I'm rambling now, so just go seek this movie out, watch it, and recommend it again and again to anyone who will listen. It's that damned good. Also, don't be put off or tricked by the description that it's a film about a love triangle, because it's so much more, and even that description is spurious at best.
