I somehow managed to watch this entire mess of a movie. How? I will never know! The beginning was OK. But only because Tom Savini was in it. That's what gets me. He is credited first. But is ONLY in the very beginning. He dies after a long battle against a very unconvincing "living dead". My question is: Why? Why credit him as the main character? Why kill off the only GOOD ACTOR in the whole movie at the VERY BEGINNING?!? The story was BAD! A guy inexplicably dies in prison and even MORE inexplicably comes back as a zombie.Blah blah blah. I don't like even talking about this trash. The only reason I watched the whole thing was because it was a slow rainy day and I had no money or gas or anything. Besides Tom, there were NO good or even BELIEVABLE performances. The guy who played Randolph was HORRIBLE! His death scene looked more like he was playing a whiny guy in bed than dying.Scenes were so off timed. A lot of times it didn't even show the zombies drop dead, we were just supposed to believe they were dead. Also, in the (lousy) final fight scene, the humans were kicking ass then suddenly were not even able to hold the zombies off hand-to-hand??? When Brad was in his hotel, how was he inexplicably being killed by zombies in the next scene when he was locked in the room securely??? And his door wasn't even open!!!! How could the people kill 2 armies of the living dead but couldn't get a SINGLE shot on Abbot Hayes?!?!?Thank God this was a Straight-to-video release...A lot of theatres would have reeked because of this garbage tainting the screenThe ONLY reason this gets a 2 is because Tom Savini was in it, and he made his scenes worthwhile. He really kicked (lame) zombie ass. WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE?!?!? 2/10. AVOID!

Children of the Living Dead (2001) BOMB (out of 4) The film starts off in the late 80s when a serial killer comes back from the dead during a zombie outbreak. The zombies are eventually killed off but flash forward fourteen years and the cemetery is about to be turned into a mall so the serial killer zombie comes back with some of his "children". John Russo produced this film and it's yet another attempt at him to milk his Night of the Living Dead for all its worth. He acted in and produced that film but his career and his partner Romero's career have certainly gone down different paths. This film here contains some of the worst zombie attacks I've ever seen and even the zombies themselves are quite bland and boring. The acting is beyond bad to the point where I was really wanting to claw my eyes out. The legendary Tom Savini appears at the start of the film and he's the only worthy thing going on here so it's a shame he gets so little screen time. The story itself is beyond stupid and at times doesn't make any sense at all but I guess you should expect that from this type of film.

There is only one word to describe this film, BAD. Indeed the worst film ever made, I don't know why Tom Savini ended up taking part in such a terrible film. I am a fan of George Romero films and when I saw this movie I just wanted to cry. The movie photography is terrible, the dialog is stupid as it can be, the story is boring, and the action… what action? This movie should be banned from all the video stores and never be mentioned again, the director must never make a movie ever again please. For the producer and director… film-making is definitely not for you. Don't ever try this again. If you see this movie in the video store go to the clerk and tell him to burn the movie.

I have suffered through some horrible horror movies through the years; The Alien Dead, Blood Diner, Lawnmower Man...just to name a few. I actually walked out of the theater on the Lawnmower Man, but I digress. I would have walked out of this abomination too, except I was AT home as this turd was a direct to DVD release. It got sooo bad about 45 minutes through I put my player on 4x speed just so I could skip over the mind-numbingly bad acting and dialogue. Abbot Hayes, the leader of the prancing dead. All this bastard does in the film is lurk in the shadows, prance, and grin/mug maniacally at the camera. He is a precedent setter though, the first queer zombie on film, oh wait Michael Jackson, never mind.
