Top-billed actor Adam West only appears for about ten minutes in total in this movie, and during his scenes you can tell that he isn't exactly pleased to find at this point in his career that he's down to doing an extended cameo in a cheap Canadian zombie movie. But if you can look past West's visible displeasure, there are plenty of unintentional humorous moments to be found here. There is plenty of dialogue and a lot of situations that don't even have the slightest believability to them, as if it were done by an alien from another planet largely unfamiliar with modern human culture. The acting is amateurish (when you can hear it - the audio is often recorded badly), and the movie is poorly lit and shot. So the movie is inept enough to be worth watching for fans of so-bad-it's-good cinema. However, I don't think it's a bad movie classic. There's a real casual feeling to much of the movie, and the lack of energy does drain out some of the potential hilarity. Don't get me wrong, the movie is unintentionally funny - just not as much as aggressive bad movie classics like "Troll 2" or "Sinbad of the Seven Seas".

A baseball playing jock just got creamed (as in killed) by a gang of trendy punks, his grief-struck mother takes his body to a mysterious voodoo priestess who magically revives him as a murderous zombie who seeks revenge on those that killed him.A stupendously awful 1987 Canadian zombie film that co-stars Adam West and Tia Carrea but not even those 2 actors could save this mess of a film. This movie has a simple story yet the acting with some stuff are terrible, the kills are lame and the pacing is slack. I rented this movie when i was 6 when it came out on video and thought it blew, yet it still does suck now but luckily i'm glad it was riffed on MST3K as it's one of my favorite episodes ever but the actual movie is a lifeless loser.

You would think that a movie with zombies(two of 'em!),bloody revenge, Tia Carrere, voodoo, a weird voodoo priestess, heavy metal music, pasta flingin', screamin', and nanananana Batmaaan would have at least some entertainment value. Well... It doesn't. I'm glad the filmmakers and cast seem to be good sports about what MST3K did to it. I have to say, Zombie nightmare is one of my all-time favorite episodes of that show. The only reason I didn't give this stupid movie one star is that it sort of had a semi coherent plot.I usually only rate movies one star if the plot is especially weak or incoherent. Um... I have to finish 10 lines so,uh, I'd just like to say if you have to see this movie, catch it on the MST3K DVD on volume 15.

"Zombie Nightmare" is appallingly bad. I've seen plenty of low-budget productions and few compare with the complete misuse of resources here. There's one scene where a zombie chases a girl through a recreational facility with embarrassing cuts back and forth between the girl who is 'leisurely jogging' as the MST3k bots put it and the slowest and least menacing zombie in the history of film. This is one of few movies which is actually just about unbearable without either teaming up with a bunch of people to rip it apart or watching the MST3k version (which is hilarious, by the way, one of the best). The only things remotely entertaining about the movie are the laughably bad sexual innuendo and the obvious: Adam West. Let's face it, Adam West is just entertaining in any setting. Other than the sexual innuendo which really is laughable, there's not much here to enjoy even on a 'so bad it's good' level- it's just BAD.The film boasts one of the funniest and weirdest title sequences I've ever seen, and one which leads to a hilarious conversation about "Ace of Spades" in the MST3k version.Watching the non-MST3k version just results in seeing more of the sexual violence and hilariously bad gore cut out of the MST3k version. I can't see why anyone that isn't obsessive like myself would want to watch the original version of this film. It's torture.1/10
