This flick blows! I've just watched 2 crappy "thrillers" back to back; this and A cure for Wellness... Even if u take it with a grain of salt and try to justify some of the over the top stuff, it just doesn't work DO NOT WATCH (Regardless of how much u enjoy horror/suspense films)

I am a big fan of horror films, I've seen all the major big boys and had seen them dozens of times that I knew em by heart. As I expanded my tastes I happened on black Christmas. For a Christmas film it was violent, bloody and had sexual scenes making it a classic for me right away.I hadn't seen the original or knew it existed at the time and thought it was a hack and slash thriller. The lights, decorations and Santa suit all make for an enchanting look that swallows you whole. It really feels like Christmas and gave it much needed atmosphere that will either make or break a horror movie.Characterization was wonderful. At first all the girls are protested as being snobbish yet as it goes on you see hints of their true selves. I even felt pity or outrage for one character named Leigh and her sister Clair. It was very sweet and heart breaking. The death scenes were different from the ones shown in the trailer and yet it was very throughout and I noticed a common theme the killer went for in each dealing with a body part that I won't spoil for you. You'll see a few familiar faces from other genre's up in us on This chilling expedition. My own complaint is Billy's backstory. I read the original script that omitted it completely leaving us shrouded in mystery. The way it should be.Its a fun popcorn flick to share with friends.

Yeah I know Christmas is over judging by the date of this review, but let's end the jolly good season with this peace of dump that Santa left under the Christmas Tree. The story is about a young boy, was abused by his mother as a child. His mother cheated on Billy's father, and eventually killed the man, while keeping Billy in the attic--for good, while she was with her lover and starting a "new" family. As Billy's mother fell pregnant with a daughter and treated her with the love he had never experienced, Billy came out of the attic after years and brutally murdered his mother and her lover. Cut to present day, a group of six sorority sisters consisting of Kelli, Dana, Lauren, Megan, Heather, Melissa and their house mother, who now live in Billy's childhood home, find themselves being harassed by threatening and intimidating mystery phone calls during Christmas Break.Originally I was going to review this movie back in December before Christmas time, but I thought nah, Christmas time is where families coming together and letting the joy of Christmas lifted everybody's spirits and I'm here talking about a crappy movie like Black Christmas which doesn't deserve a full review at Christmas time.Hollywood remakes of horror films always feels like the producer's and even the director don't even give a damn if the movie is good or not, they only want money and nothing else. And that's why I can't stand those things. Movies are art and not a cliché cash grab, and this movie is a stains of all of that. The directing sucks, the music is awful, the acting was pretty poor and this movie has to be the most cliché, bloated, over wheeling horror flick in the road of 2000's horror cliché of pure madness.

A lot of reviewers seem to hate this film because it is a remake of the 1979 film Black Christmas. I can't argue, the 1979 one was better, but mainly because the amount of vulgar language, sex talk, bad acting and awful soundtrack made it one hell of a horrible experience. But the 1979 one had vulgar language too, you say? While, yes, but it was in moderation and was used by characters to show their low-class, immature personality. In the 2006 version, the bad language and sex stuff seems to only be there to appeal to perverts and idiots who think crude humor is funny. The acting was awful, and the soundtrack was that 21st century crud. The only advice I can give is to avoid this movie at all costs, stick with the original.
