Copperhead didn't strike me as a bad or unwatchable movie. It's just that it was too uneven for me to class it as good. The western bit is actually entertaining, with authentic attention to detail, some decent lines, a good rootin' tootin' score and moments of excitement in the action. However, the "mutated creature" part is nowhere near as promising, with artificial-looking and very un-scary snakes, dialogue that goes into clichéd and hackneyed territory and a predictable and illogical story. The characters are stereotypical and not always engaging, the corrupt sheriff was the best of the lot and I have seen variations of this sort of character many times. The acting is not bad though, Billy Drago is a lot of fun. Overall, uneven but could've been worse. 4/10 Bethany Cox

Wild west clichés meet monster movie clichés in Copperhead, a slightly amusing Sci-Fi Channel (eh...SyFy) horror western about a group of rowdy outlaws and other stereotypes who stop fighting long enough to battle a deadly stampede of venomous snakes. My biggest question about Copperhead: Why are the snakes doing what they're doing? This is so monumentally illogical that only the Sci-Fi Channel could cook it up, though I must admit that it is a bit refreshing that the writers didn't invent some crackpot explanation for the events in the film.As ludicrous as it all was, I thought it was okay and the characters were fun, especially Billy Drago, who's a great actor and should have had more screen time.

For a Sci-Fi Channel movie Copperhead was far better than most. Then again, I'm a sucker for B Westerns and cheesy science fiction. One complaint I do have was that there not enough Billy Drago as Jesse. I wish the character returned at the end... perhaps in the sequel? Brad Johnson was his usual competent self as Wild Bill and Keith Stone and the rest of the cast excelled as well. There was also a fair share of humor that was well played and at just the right moments. I will be buying the DVD when it come out, I liked the film that much.By the way, did anyone else notice the character of Will at one point was called Bonney? Billy the Kid maybe? Makes me wonder if Doc was Pat Garret.

A good attempt at making a Western by a foreign film maker. Attention to detail was very good on creating an authentic looking western town. Wardrobe was very well chosen and authentic to the time period being depicted. Props and Set Dressings were very well represented for the era. The Characters were very well portrayed. The Dialog of the Characters was very well written for each part played. I was very disappointed in their attempt at making computer generated snakes though as they were not very realistic looking. However, it was a good movie to just set back with the lights off eating popcorn with good company. Just a good movie to stay up late for and scare each other.
