The funny action among the family paired with the hilariously exaggerated events at middle school made the film a charming comedy. I enjoyed the acting of Zachary Gordon, the mother, and Rodrick the most, well done!

Greg (Zachary Gordon) has moved on to the seventh grade. He hangs out with his wimpy friends. The new girl in school is Holly Hills (Peyton List). She has long blond hair and has captured everyone's attention. Greg's friend Rowley (Robert Capron) says, "She's as pretty as my mom," in an awkward Freudian moment. Greg's parents are the stereotypical embarrassing parents. Greg and his older brother Roderick bond in this film as they share a secret. Roderick (Devon Bostick) who is part of a garage rock band, "Loded Diper"(sic) gives his brother advice on how to get Holly's attention. And there is a talent contest in town...Rachel Harris plays the mom. She is made to look like Tina Fey in a non-threatening way. She like movies were the man chooses the maid over the super model. The movie contains pranks. The boys misbehave in ways we wish our kids would only misbehave. Good movie for family night entertainment as it was amusing and palatable for adults.

A few weeks ago, my best friend and I were looking for movies to rent, mostly for ones we could make fun of, as we enjoy doing that on occasion. We saw this movie and thought "Well, here's just another really horrible movie for kids that we can make fun of" so we rented it. When we watched it, we were surprised to find this movie genuinely hilarious! Despite the somewhat stereotypical characters of the dumb older brother and the dorky younger one, I found the chemistry between the two very refreshing, and the writing style to be witty. This comedic family film perfectly portrayed the most annoying parts about having an older sibling, with the fighting, the yelling, and the wacky adventures that always seem to happen when your parents aren't looking.I found this film to be a refreshing and genuinely hilarious tale of what it's like to have an older sibling, and I would recommend this to anyone looking for good entertainment.

This series of films has really sneaked up on me from nowhere and grabbed my attention.Having never read the source material, or having any intention of watching the movie, I came across the first one, and then my daughter wanted me to watch this. And I must say, it's a refreshing change to see a movie that can be classed as a family movie for once, that doesn't include smutty innuendo, coarse language, and features one of the truest teenage parties I have ever scene (no alcohol, no smoking, just fun). The films narrative centres around the bonding of the two brothers and their struggles to tolerate each other. It's all done very well, and the cast are great, especially Zahn, and the guy who plays Rodrick. It's a great movie for all the family, and I'm looking forward to seeing the next installment.
