I really don't understand why so many people hate this movie.I've seen a lot of complaints about the animation. It's not Pixar, but so what? It's still very good. From the reviews you would think Tarzan was on the level of an old Playstation game. It's fluid and beautiful to look at. While it's not a very original story (Tarzan's origin has been told and retold a million times in movies), it's good enough for an adventure movie like this. It's touching, romantic and full of jungle action like the classic movies. It's not directly based on ERB's novels. It's more like a combination of the Disney and Weissmuller version.Usually, these kind of animated movies contain fart jokes or sexual innuendo. It was a nice surprise to see that Tarzan steered clear of such unfunny and idiotic stuff. The worst thing about the movie is that they used that Coldplay song in one of the scenes. Cliché!Maybe the problem is that some critics and people have been spoiled by Pixar and Disney. They expect every single animated movie to be like that. When a movie by a different company comes out, a movie that's just there to entertain, it's not good enough.Tarzan is just a fun and harmless movie for the whole family.

This version is very entertaining. The animation is video game realistic. I watched a clip of how they stop motion captured stunt and parkour artists to get the gorillas and Tarzan swinging through the jungle. A lot of work that pays off. The story has been updated for a change turning Tarzan into an Eco warrior. He's saving the jungle from an evil corporation that wants to find a meteor that crashed in the jungle centuries earlier. We bought that plot device in Fern Gully and Avatar so why not here. Tarzan is stranded by a helicopter crash rather than a shipwreck. We were going to watch as a family, but my teenager had other things to do, so my husband and I had a relaxing evening thoroughly enjoying this movie.

This is the most god-awful movie which completely ignores all original story-lines, then adds historically inaccurate events from Earth's early years and finally has terrible animation. I watched the first minute of this movie and immediately knew it would be a crap fest. The idea that a meteor crashed in to Africa which wiped out the dinosaurs then remained intact to form a giant mountain covered by mist, (face palm), I can't give this enough of a poor rating. It is a horribly directed, ill conceived, poorly written and incorrectly executed movie. The only saving grace is that my kids were amused for 90 minutes but the side effect is that their minds have been tainted by a movie which should have never been released.

This is terrible! The dialog is stiff and broken. The character's reactions are not synchronize with their face and situation at all. This has to be the worst movie about Tarzan ever. Jane does not have any major impact or impression to the viewer. She appear just to be saved and did not do anything noticeable. And at the end, her "Don't leave me" line is very fake. The final battle is childish and ridiculous. It is very short, and utterly stupid. Note that the earlier plant monster should have joined the final battle. The scary mercenary behaved just like idiots. Seriously? Some small snakes and all of them lost their mind? Honestly. Tarzan himself has a constantly stiff and unchanging expression. While it did change in some scenes, the changes are minimal and hard to see. This movie's a big disappointment that only managed to make me want to re-watch the other, better Tarzan movie.
