February 12 is just another day in Sam's charmed life, until it turns out to be her last. Stuck reliving her last day over and over, Sam untangles the mystery around her death and discovers everything she's losing. Before i Fall is pretty interesting but unfortunately that's just as much as it can truly give you since it's just like 'Groundhog Day' which i did liked the concept but not the execution and the same problem happens with this movie as well. Let's just say that the acting was pretty good but the story? It tried a bit way too much at times even for a drama. (5/10)
These ladies are much better at their craft than this movie allows. Terrible script, plot, and no discernible message lies within. With infinite opportunities to better herself and those around her, our protagonist (a non-redeeming mean girl) gets absolutely nothing accomplished; aside from depressing and irritating the audience. If you like this kind of story idea (waking up to the same day ut infinitum),as I do, save yourself the time and spend it on rewatching Groundhog Day.
So here's the thing,fellow movielings, I just finished the book by Lauren Oliver. (Great book btw) I'm really annoyed this movie isn't true to the book. Yes, same story line, same names etc. So as I'm sure you read the movies description, teen girl relived the day she died...blah blah. Ok cool. BUT, it's the little thing that aren't major,but enough to make me say you know what this sucks that's not how it was in the book! For instance, MOVIE- Izzy has dark brown hair Book- Izzy has golden blonde hair. MOVIE- They find out Juliet Sykes ( the girl that is bullied by the popular crew for years) killed herself through phone notifications, BOOK- Allys mom comes in and tells them while theyre having a sleepover. MOVIE- Kents father died, BOOK- Kent's GRAMDFATHER died. I can keep going but you catch my drift. All in all it is a decent movie but a way better book. CHEERS!
