Rage (2014)

First off, the bad guys drive a rav 4!! This is my first review ever and this film made me do it. So I was bored and chanced upon this movie and decided to give it a try. I knew it was bad in the first 2 minutes but I was like hey, who knows. I was wrong. It just went and chilled in hell from there. From the cars that kept transforming to the preposterous car chase to the shaky camera work, poor dialogue unnecessary "action". The list goes on. I agree with one reviewer who questioned Danny Glover's role. But I question all the cast. It seems as if they found an old camera after watching taken and said "hey, we can do this sh*t worse" sent a whatsapp group msg and invited some friends to join in making my life more miserable than it already is. I can go on and on but I'll stop there. I mean the bad guys drive a rav 4!

This is a movie that i have watched a couple of times, is always nice when you're looking for some entertainment time and want some decent thriller, sure the movie isn't the best of the world but surely delivers what promises on keeping every element in it, a solid story with some nice twists, some nice action and also a very good acting from most of the actors involved including Cage, so if you like the genre see it because you will not be disappointed and you will enjoy the movie and even perhaps you'll end up watching it more than once seeking another round of fun.Seen that this movie had low ratings makes me go against the mainstream's flow a bit here since most of the highest ranked are not on my hype, and this one gets a different veredict from me: 9/10

Nicolas Cage is 50 years old but looks odd for his age. His hair looks unnatural, he really needs to take it back to the shop and ask for an exchange.His post Oscar winning glory days are well behind him when for a few years he had that knack of making blockbuster action films and more offbeat art films that gained critical acclaim. Mired with tax demands he now makes straight to DVD films solely for money to keep the tax authorities satisfied.In Tokarev, Nicolas Cage plays a reformed gangster who has to go back to his bad old ways and get his former crew together when his daughter gets kidnapped. When she is found dead killed by a Russian pistol they go after some Russian gangsters thinking its retaliation for past events.Danny Glover (who seriously is too old for this s**t) plays the oldest detective in town trying to stop Cage from having his vengeance.This is just a low rent version of Taken but Cage lacks the special skills that Neeson had apart from the moral that your past sins will come to haunt you, this is a derisory film.

Not like the movie Taken at all. So its in no way a bad or a good copy of that movie. This movie is in some ways over the top and kind of silly, but also more realistic in its main story than most action (if you remove some of the characters and some of the action). Some of the characters act really bizarre, mostly Danny Glover, that cop character acts like its a cool revenge story ( I don't like what you do but if you wanna kill an army of guys go ahead I understand, a man gotta do what a man gotta do). To me the only message in this flick was the meaningless of violence. It masquerade itself to be a straight forward action movie in the two thirds of it and not really being that is the strength and the weakness of Tokarev.
