People often ask how I find and pick the really independent films I sometimes review. In the case of Babysitter Wanted, it was an easy choice, as nothing is scarier to me that an evil child. Strangely enough the film also features several cast members from a TV show I really liked, Kyle XY. The story begins with the deeply religious, Angie (Sarah Thompson), going away to college. Looking for some extra money, she picks up a job babysitting for a family living in the middle of nowhere. Everything seems normal at first, until one night someone tries to break in, and to everyone's surprise, the beautiful young girl is not the target of his rage. This film was very unusual for a religious based horror film, as it wasn't over the top with religious jargon. It was a major theme of the film, but they don't beat you over the head with it the way other films do. It's also unlike your usual slasher films as it has a good cast, a decent and somewhat unique story, and most important of all, it doesn't move at lightning speed. Almost every slasher film I've ever seen has 15 minutes of story and then it's one big chase, but that doesn't happen here. They spend a lot of time on the story and when things do happen, they are pretty surprising. Sarah Thompson stars as the babysitter, while being your typical beautiful horror movie girl, she was also very credible and connected with the audience. Watching this film, you feel like you know her or someone like her, and you'll be cheering for her in a way you really don't do in films like this. She's paired with Kyle XY himself, Matt Dallas, another really good looking, likable person, that audiences will also relate to. Once you see the whole picture, it's going to seem a bit odd to you, but the Directors and Casting people really hit the nail on the head, making this seem like anything but a slasher film until the time was just right, making for a really enjoyable and unique type of film.

Angie is doing her first year in collage. She is convinced that someone is following her, and feel uneasy about the situation. She takes a babysitter job, to get some extra cash and maybe to get her mind of things. She gets terrorized that night, and as the night goes on, the more blood gets spilled. Its not an original story. This type of horror setting have been done before. The twist was a little bit unexpected, but not original. Something I always find so interesting about horror movies is that the main character is often an innocent girl. She is nervous, shy, kind and cute, and has survival skills close to Rambo. These kind of movies always have their flaws, but if you watch them for what they are, without expecting a cinematic masterpieces, they are quite enjoyable. The logic fails here and there, but its still an enjoyable cheap low budget movie, as easy to forget as its cheap to buy. If you like horror movies of this kind, its actually worth two-three euros for a cheap thrill. For me its a way to rest my mind for an hour and a half!

OK, this is very low budget "Satan has his child movie", all right. The authors seem to repeat all dumb clichés almost in canonical order which makes this movie annoying beyond any description. The female hero is Christian yet she makes no attempt to pray in the face of evil. Instead she cries "please let me go". God seems to be somewhat useless or absent here completely. The only moment for prayer is before meeting the Devil and after that. Is it possible to lose your faith when you see the living proof of your faith? The child behaves super strange, he wants to eat meat only, there are skulls and other satanic items in the house yet the hero does not seem to have any bad feeling about this. There must be some rule "never hurt your real enemy". So when she hurts the priest, she hurts him hard. When she has the chance to kill the "father" or the "son", she never does that. She only hurts them slightly so she can gimp around about half of an hour and repeatedly hurt her enemy a little.By the way, the priest never makes any attempt to explain what he is doing. He behaves as neonazi satanist combined with zombie and partially Freddy Krueger. The only way how to save the heroine is some random chance. Without that she would probably gimp around forever. Her pure, ever loving handsome asexual boyfriend is found dead in the middle of the movie only to be found not dead in the moment his help is not longer needed. After fight with two super sized psychos she just succumbs to little devil boy even when he does not display any sort of super power. She does not try to use any help from God, she does not attempt to destroy him for good even when she notices the special knife owned by non-communicating Krueger looking priest. The farm is searched thoroughly by the police, but the very strange looking knife is left where it was. She and her boyfriend can finally grab the knife and start search for the "son". It would be too easy and unfair to kill him when he was hanged and hurt. This is so so so incredibly stupid. There must be some "thriller" subcategory for this. "Naive and stupid heroes make repeated useless attempts to fight the Evil so the viewer can see some torture and wisdom from the mind of the psychopaths." Please stop making these movies and give us some real heroes.

Okay, 1stly i wanna say, I CAN EXPECT THE PLOT!! I can already guess who is the bad one in here. The part where the child eat the raw meat is actually the main clue to this. Well, you can actually guess by just look at the boy eating the meat and compare it to the earlier scene from the movie. What i really disappointed in this movie is the acting skill. The actress really don't act well especially at the panic-heart-pounding part. We can see that she is not really that scared. And the part where she has to knocked-out the priest, look soft to me. She really didn't hit the man hard. Also, i really thought that Rick gonna be a help at some point, but it seems that he doesn't has any part in the horror part. Really.. What is the point of him getting knocked-out and when he seem to gain his conscious then nothing happen??
