Monsters (2010)
Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear and half of Mexico was quarantined as an infected zone. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain "the creatures," while a journalist agrees to escort a shaken tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the U.S. border.

Really enjoyed the premise and was quite intense in spots. Did not understand the end of the movie. So I dropped a star for that.
If you enjoy staring at two pretty nobodies ad-libbing about whether or not they might want to pork one day whilst travelling across Mexico, with poor CGI monsters you only ever get to see occasionally hinted at in uber dark and mushy night scenes to hide the effects from criticism, then this movie is for you, if however you were hoping for action, adventure and some actual monsters in your monster movie, then no.Blair Witch with slightly better production values and just as much pay off for your time.
It's not just the bad acting, and boring, drawn out, meaningless dialog that lends nothing to the weak plot. Add to that a lousy screenplay and an utterly ridiculous premise. Then there's the giant extraterrestrial tentacled CGI creatures - with pulsating neon lighting inside, two of which rendezvous at a gas station and have alien sex (?) in the final scene while the the two main characters just stand nearby and watch- unmolested.
This it romance movie. Most of the most they make you pay attention to a romance going on with a man and a women. Well the arm is fighting giant monsters. The monsters should been the mean them instead of a having bunch of scenes all about this boring couple falling in love. The story line is awful. I would not give it a 6.4. It is a 4. 6.4 is just overrating. The sequel monster dark continent is better. But really not a very good movie. But better then this. Do not waste your time. And do not waste your money. Do not see this awful movie. See The war of the worlds. See Godzilla See Pasifice Rim. Do not see this movies. Atlantic Rim is a lot better then this.
