Have you heard of the type of movies called "so bad it's good"? This movie is exactly that, minus the "it's good" bit. While the special effects, for a 2007 movie, are good, the writing is disgraceful. It is evidently lazy, the writer was clearly not committed to the movie. The CGI was fairly gorgeous, but the writing is so rushed and bad that it ruins the entire movie. It is so bad that at first, I thought it was produced by 'Asylum', but it wasn't. That bad.As well as this, the acting was poor. Overall, this movie is so ridiculous and rushed that you will probably lose a few IQ points and make an account just to review it. Do not waste your time, even if you want to see just how bad it is. That's what got me to write this. It's bad.

Dragon wars told us a Korean legend about the dragons.I read the comments here and found the rate is so low. Maybe the plot is too weak and some scene is ridiculously naive. Maybe it's the director's fault, he just wanted to make a film combined with eastern and western culture, but he made a mess. The special effects is really good and the real dragon in the last scene is really wonderful. The East Asia dragon is different from the evil western dragon. It's a mythical creature with a huge snake-like body covered in fish scales, and adorned with horns, a beard, claws and feet. This dragon can bring the rain to the earth and the people are grateful to that. This legend is originated from China and spread to Korean peninsula and other parts of East Asia. At the end of the movie we hear the traditional Korean folk song and it's really beautiful. Maybe this movie is too short and crudely made, but i have to admit that this movie is a great surprise.

I should note that "Dragon Wars: D-Wars" showed some very pricey CGI, which were somewhat better than other sci-fi films on UniMás (previously TeleFutura). But the good graphics will be my only positive remark about this South Korean import (that I saw in Spanish - quite the international experience). I assumed this movie was based on a comic book, but either way, this film might've been overlooked in the multiplexes chock-full of movies adapted from every comic book except "Archie." (I'm sure there'll be one; the TV movie from over a decade ago where Archie & friends grow up ain't worth braggin' about.) But back to the dragon movie. Again the graphics were good & those monsters would've made some pretty cool toys. But the story of a journalist accompanying a poor, tortured young lady on a wild adventure 'cause she's the reason for those dragons terrorizing Los Angeles seems silly & necessary only to display those kickass dragons. Surprisingly, there are some familiar faces who aren't lead actors: Craig Robinson, Retta, & Billy Gardell. They now appear respectively in "The Office," "Parks & Recreation," & "Mike & Molly." In conclusion, "Dragon Wars: D-Wars" is best watched on TV w/ the volume turned up when the cool scenes are on. But anytime you see scenes with dialogue such as the suits trying to deal w/ this dragon disaster, adjourn to the kitchen or bathroom, but leave the television on when the monsters return.

A lame and pointless CGI fest in which the entire budget is spent on huge, hulking and elaborate city-wide battle sequences of monsters versus the army in scenes that feel inspired by TRANSFORMERS. The opening storyline, which gets entirely forgotten about around the half hour mark, is absolutely cringe-worthy, along the lines of something equally ridiculous and kid-friendly like DRAGONBALL EVOLUTION.The acting is even worse: this is a South Korean production, made in collaboration with Hollywood so that we get a load of young and inexperienced American actors popping up in central roles. It goes without saying that they're horrible, although eagle-eyed viewers may notice a slumming Robert Forster (JACKIE BROWN) turning up in one of those world-weary mentor type roles.Meanwhile, I do have to admit that the CGI is impressive. Those massed pitched battles are carried out with gusto and a maximum of destruction, and the creatures on show put to shame the kinds of low-budget CGI monstrosities that prop up many a television movie. But, in the end, without a decent storyline to support them, who cares about the quality of the effects on show? DRAGON WARS might as well be a cartoon for all it's worth, and any viewers over the age of five are going to find it lacking.
