I'm not entirely sure why so many people dislike this movie. It's really good. Throughout the entire movie I was getting the Alfred Hitchcock, Psycho movie vibe, but somehow this movie seemed to express much better acting qualities. I fell in love with the obvious romance between the two roommates and then grew involved with the plot. I was biting my fingernails terrified on what would happen next. The music was also really good. You should watch this movie if you love good movies. Really this is really good, I recommend.

This is a good movie, if you can follow what's going on and put things together especially at the end. At the beginning of the story, you are kept in the dark, like all movies, as to what's going on. Towards the middle you get a little confused with all the crazy things happening in the village. There are some twists and turns and suspicious events happening. At the very end you find out what really happened. You walk out of the movie theater talking about how the story comes together at the end, and how cleverly they kept us in suspense. I see a lot of negative reviews, from people who are most likely unaware, of what it takes to make a movie. It's not a great movie but it's good.

Well Directed by Mr. Kandan and acted well throughout by Faulkner and her mysterious roommate Greg (VAN WILDER: FRESHMAN YEAR's Jonathan Bennett), the likability of these actors was enough for me to go with the flow of this tale, which never shows its cards until the very end. The ending was such a huge unexpected and a surprising turning point, and if you're paying close attention, it'll all make sense. So if you're the type who likes to keep the suspense in a thriller till the end, 'THE SECRET VILLAGE' will be your type of thriller. The wonderful scenery and the calm location in the movie is great. This is a thriller that you can watch with the whole family because there are no severe violence in any of the scenes. The director has done a wonderful job in maintaining the thrilling momentum throughout the movie but still has not shown any severe violence in the movie.

This film lost me 90 minute of my life I can't get back, so I feel the feel the need to warn others. The secret village is one of the worst films I have seen and unfortunately i have seen a lot, but this is one of the films that has prompted me to join IMDb and write a review. 1.The acting is awful the male and female lead in particular were bad 2.The editing was all over the place, couldn't follow the story due to that fact 3. Horrible annoying soundtrack that tries desperately to add suspense too this poor excuse of a film. 4. Cheap make up and costume obliviously bought from fancy dress shop. The director who adds his name to the cover and title of this film and as if he Is so proud should have hidden it at the back in very small lettering, especially if ever wants to direct again. He obviously fancies himself as a M Night type director due too the weak twist at the end but this he is not, $2 million was spent on this and when watching the credits at the end I saw that executive producer was someone with the same surname so obviously a rich relative indulged the writer director with the money to make this mess if a film. Note too that relative please don't indulge him any more spend your money on something more worthwhile. Don't watch this movie and destroy any copies you may see to stop other experiencing what I did.
