I can see this movie has had a lot of bad reviews but I must admit it beats the crap out of some of the horrors / thrillers I've seen lately. The acting is very good, the location was excellent and the background music was brilliant. So what if there weren't enough killing scenes, the attack scenes that were shown were excellent and the special effects were top class. I thought the bodies they found peeled to the bone quite interesting and original. This is not a boring movie, in fact the characters can keep you entertained. I would recommend this movie to anybody who is looking for some entertainment on a night off or if you are a frequent movie watcher.

This low-budget Afrikaaner co-production isn't awful, I guess. I've seen far duller and more unoriginal horror films. However, if you expect to see anything here that is even mildly interesting, except the attractive leading lady, forget it. I suppose some of the accents can be amusing for a while, but that's about it. Someone wrote that the setting is interesting. The setting is a desert. I've seen dozens of movies set in the desert, so I have no clue what the hell that "reviewer" is talking about. If he's so excited by deserts he should watch gecko documentaries on Animal Planet, which I'm sure are far more fun to watch than this "The Thing" rip-off. I haven't seen the movie in one go, in which case I probably would have been more merciless toward it.

A good suspense chiller. Four prospectors who had disappeared in the desert have been found with their flesh stripped and bones scattered. A lab scientist and a team go to try to solve the mystery. They find a strange rock dome but no clues to what caused the massacre. They then find they are being hunted by millions of unstoppable creatures capable of devouring their flesh! Special effects were reasonable - but could have been enhanced and used more. B Movie, good location, moderate chills and thrills. One thing that can hold your interest in this movie is Mikki. Rachel Shelley is well cast, and superb. Watching her strut her stuff in combats is reason enough to watch this movie again, and again and......

This is another Alien imitation and not a very good one at that.Replace outer space with the South African desert, throw in the same ingredients,a group of people stranded in an inhospitable landscape, have them hunted down by an alien creature and you have the same old story of a very ordinary film trying to ape a classic film. A group of miners and scientists go on a hunt for some missing colleagues and find their bones in the desert stripped clean of flesh.Their vehicle breaks down and they head for civilisation while being stalked by the monster. The African location is pretty enough but that is basically all this film has going for it. There is a vain attempt to build up the tension but I found this didn't really work and made the film rather boring. The creature didn't appear much and when it did it didn't really install a feeling of horror. There is one scene where someone gets the flesh ripped from his arm but that was basically it on the gore front. In conclusion i found this film about as exciting as watching paint dry.I give this film 4/10 and that is only because of the interesting location which alone isn't enough to save this movie from being a total snooze-fest
