Six friends on a road trip stop for the night at a bed and breakfast in the sleepy town of Lovelock. After a night that leaves both the inn's owner and chef dead, the gang finds themselves under suspicion by the local sheriff. But that's only the beginning as nearly all of the town's quirky residents become possessed by an evil spirit and pin down the friends inside the B&B.

While heading to Galveston, Texas to attend a wedding, a group of 3 men and 3 women decide to stop at a small Bed & Breakfast to spend the night. What they don't know is that the owner of the Bed & Breakfast, who goes by the name of "Mr. Wise" (David Carradine), is involved in a form of witchcraft and has in his possession a magical box which grants him good fortune. Unfortunately, it has a dual nature and can release an evil spirit if the box is ever opened by anyone. Naturally, as one might expect, the box is indeed opened and the spirit immediately possesses one of the wedding guests named "Johnny" (Osgood Perkins) who subsequently goes about the task of transforming people in the small town into zombie-like creatures intent on killing everybody they see. Now rather than reveal any more of this film I will just say that, while I don't particular like most "zom-coms" (Zombie-Comedies), this particular movie wasn't too bad as it managed to mix some decent comedy with some adequate special effects. In short, while this movie certainly wasn't great by any means it was still somewhat entertaining and for that reason I have rated it accordingly. Average.

Hilarious and gory, two things I look for in a movie! If you love Evil Dead, or even Evil Dead The Musical THIS IS FOR YOU. Friends driving to a wedding stop in a middle of nowhere town for the night. When the owner of the bed and breakfast dies suddenly all hell breaks loose, no pun intended. Axes, chainsaws and homemade pipe guns are the weapons of choice for the gang who tries to defend themselves against the newly became zombie town. Fun and entertaining Dead and Breakfast fits the needs for horror fans by giving them something new but very familiar all at the same time.Zombies, blood, guts, and a dance sequence you cannot go wrong!

As many other people. I dived into this film expecting a full armament of laughter and gore much like Shaun of the Dead (even the film announced itself as the American equivalent, that would be Zombieland). Well, this one only kept half of its promise, lot's o gore and child-like humor (or pseudo-slapstick, pick one). The story line is your formulaic zombie-esque plot, only with a small twist regarding Buddhism. however, some characterization is pretty nice. My main problem, however, is not the plot (given that it was an independent film, and by those standards, the gore was pretty awesome!) but, as stated earlier, it was the comedy. The humor here just falls flat. It tries to be funny, but it fails most of the time. There are Some glimpses in the film that made me chuckle a bit, but nothing too spectacular. I feel as if the film does not know its audience; while the gore and language is obviously for grown-ups, the humor just feels juvenile, with profane jokes running parallel to the more innocent tidbits of childish humor.I would recommend this film Only if you're a gore hound with a low standard of humor and high capacity to accept some crude jokes. I Am aware that this film is not to be taken seriously, but since there is low amounts of humor (that is mostly boring and not fun), what else can one do?

Despite the lame title, I had no idea that Dead and Breakfast was a comedy. And yeah, it is pretty funny! You've got the typical group of 20-somethings taking a road trip to attend a friend's wedding, when they get lost and decide to spend the night at an inn. They're all there: Cool cat, stoner, tough-talking girl, nice girl, level-headed girl, dweeb. What sets it apart from most movies like it, is that they don't mysteriously start getting picked off one by one. Several references are made to clichés, such as dead cell phones and forgotten car keys, but they're quick and sly and work! And of course, there's the clueless sheriff and deputy, but they're simply and effectively satirizing those common roles. The gore/splatter level is pretty acceptable for fans of that (like me). Now let's talk about Zack Selwyn. What a hilariously talented singer this guy is. He pops up several times to fill us in on the plot line through awesome little country ditties and each time, he nails it! It gets to the point where you can't wait for him to appear on screen with his acoustic guitar and rhymes. He totally makes this movie worth watching, and definitely the most amusing thing about it. From great lyrics to the absurd "Thriller" dance, this movie belongs to him.
