"Automaton Transfusion" mostly dispenses with such little things as story in this all out assault on your senses. A ferocious zombie epidemic (which does get an explanation late in the movie) occurs, and a small group of high school students flee for safety. That's pretty much all you need to know. Some horror fans may praise this blessedly brief bit of nonsense (76 minutes all told) for a breakneck pace, lots of action, the requisite onslaught of gore, and for having zombies that pursue their quarries at full speed. These elements may be more appreciated if only the whole thing weren't so derivative. There is nothing here that people haven't seen before; only unless they are die hard aficionados of zombie cinema should they even bother with this. (Even so, some viewers may be bored.)The largely stereotypical characters are mostly annoying and aren't fleshed out at all. The performances from the no name cast are no more than passable. Director / writer / editor Steven C. Miller appears on screen as a professor. The soundtrack is often overcome by hard pounding rock and metal music. The makeup effects are variable; sometimes there are good gore gags. The editing, and a camera that often refuses to stand still, merely serve to make things incoherent. If the only thing you watch zombie movies for is the flesh munching, then perhaps you'll find some value in all of this. This ends with a cliffhanger setting up a (belated) sequel.Five out of 10.

typical low-budget horror flick, creative but not very original. i bought this movie out of a Walmart $5 bin, not expecting much but i did get what i paid for. Overall story line is good, the graphics were low budget but understandable, and they work with what they had. The cover picture of the copy i bought was a little far fetched to catch attention, but i was amused and entertained by the movie in general. One part of the movie made me cringe and almost turn it off when the Z pulled a child out of the pregnant teen girls stomach and ate it, they used a big band name (Panic! ate the disco) when going to town when we first saw the hoard sprinting down the street. The morgue scene was alright, with the first encounter, but ignoring the fact that when the assistant mortician was being pulled in the freezer on top of a pair of empty pants after supposedly being snapped in half. i enjoy watching low budget movies and this one was entertaining for the $50,000 budget they had. i give it a good rating for the reason that it kept my attention.

Where to begin... the whole movie has this awful jittery look to it, and it's because the filmmakers obviously to post-convert 30 fps down to 24 fps to give it a "film look." It's an epic fail. All the audio was recorded in post, because it all sounds horribly canned and out of place. Imagine a group of high school kids decided to shoot a movie one week. That's what this is. Everything about it is amateur. There's one or two good special effects, but there's no story. Just people running from zombies. One second they'll be in a jeep. Then all of a sudden they're swimming in a lake. It's mind-numbingly bad. They try to throw a stupid story at you about 70 min into it (which is right at the end since it's only 75 min long), and then it doesn't even have an ending. It just stops. One of the worst things I've ever seen.

Unlike what another reviewer says, it does make a difference to me that this was shot on a low budget. I agree the story wasn't so great but quite frankly there isn't a lot more they can do with zombie films. It's a tired genre. The gore and killings were all well handled. I really didn't have a problem with the acting either. Thought the lead actor did a good job (and was hot as hell). No ones acting was bad enough that I actually stopped to thing "thats some bad acting." The ending actually kind of made me laugh. This is a "B" movie and makes no aspirations to be anything else. Bottom line, if you like independent horror movies and aren't done to death with the zombie genre give it a shot.
