Two unhappy young lovers are separated by a zombie apocalypse, and to reunite they must find strengths they never knew they had. Will they, won't they?Cynical satire layered over a crystal clear story, with great rhythm in the writing and editing. This comes in 3 episodes (alternative format 5) but apart from the recaps at the start can be watched as an unbroken whole like a full length feature of 140 mins. Too long, you say? Nah - they get it right. It's a mix of Dawn Of The Dead, using the satire of the original and the energy of the remake, with the matured version of UK Big Brother, using Endomol's privileges to get the most into the production. Davina gives a performance that will define her forever. The plotting and pace is good. Characterization good too - although the tone of the extreme characters is sometimes annoying rather than grotesque. I'm thinking of the conflicts between the tranny and the northern bloke, and the scene where the producer slices up the corpse. But the lovers are well played and ... lovable. Acting never awkward.Overall: My favourite zombiedom after Dawn Of The Dead 2003.

I gave this a chance but after the third episode I was tired of it. I realized that I didn't like or identify with any of the characters. The ones that were incredibly stupid became simply annoying. In the face of horror, much of the dialogue was off-base. They're having nonsensical chats in the middle of hell. In other words, they're not focused completely on their predicament. At least it doesn't show in their attitudes and behaviors. But what was most annoying about it was the constant arguing about everything. Arguing before the apocalypse gets started, arguing as it gets started, arguing constantly as it continues. That's unrealistic. People would be too scared to argue so much in such a predicament. Or do all British people argue constantly and cuss at each other? The British accents and slang left me at odds, also. If you like your characters cussing and yelling at each other and constantly arguing in British accents, then this is the show for you. Me, I'm to watch a movie now where the characters are not so surly and stupid.

Download it from Sky on demand. It sounded really stupid, like the walking dead meets big brother, and that is exactly what it was!! I am not a a big brother fan either, But surprisingly enough it was absolutely brilliant. Im so glad I taped them because I was able to watch one straight after the other. The acting was excellent, it was well scripted and the makeup was brilliant. The best part of all, was watching the most irritating woman on TV, Devina McColl get whats been coming to her after many years of waiting for this to happen. For this alone I should give it a 10!! All we want now is for them to make a follow up with Tony Blair and I would die happy.

"Dead Set" is a British mini-series centered on a television reality show called "Big Brother" which has several contestants living in an enclosed area while being watched around the clock for an indefinite period of time. Unknown to the small group of people on the inside, or the small number of people in the studio, a zombie plague has engulfed Great Britain and is spreading very rapidly. All too soon they become the only survivors. At any rate, rather than reveal what happens next I will just say that this is a very good zombie film which features good acting, lots of action and plenty of gore. I especially enjoyed the character known as "Patrick" (Andy Nyman) who was about as overbearing a person as you will ever meet. At least I hope so. I also thought Jaime Winstone (as "Kelly") put on a fine performance as well. Likewise, the show included a couple of beautiful women named "Veronica" (Beth Cordingly) and "Pippa" (Kathleen McDermott) who certainly weren't bad on the eyes. As I mentioned earlier, this is a mini-series which runs slightly longer than your average movie. But if you're a zombie fan you certainly won't mind the extra time because it's definitely worth watching.
