Better than anticipated about losing someone you care about when you least expect.Those that you think will live forever and will always be there then they pass.Then the pieces that you have to pick up afterward even when you don't really want too but must. This film has all this and then some the main star who makes a machine by accident that opens the afterlife and the tapestry this weaves throughout the movie.A slow melodic build up culminates into the crushendo at the end plus the little extra as all in this genre seem to have these days.Slow burner of a movie but one for a quiet night in.
'Our House' is not the worst movie I've seen but it certainly isn't the most exciting. The first half feels like nothing more than a sad family story. The second half throws in a few scares, but really not much else. Pretty much all of the horror aspects of the film could be condensed into a two minute short. Kinda slow, nothing revolutionary, and very average. It's not that's it's bad, it's just not good either.
This reminded me of the simple days of early 90's where horror movies were experimental and had an enjoyable premise.Now i didn't entirely dislike this movie, it has its shortcomings. The scare factor was very downplayed but the concept kept me entertained.Its a good effort for a horror movie but i wish they had more fun doing something memorable to give a lasting impression.You'll probably like this movie if you want something more simple to digest when theres nothing else to watch.Other than that i don't know how to recommend this for you.
REVIEW - OUR HOUSEHope can be a wonderful thing but after loosing someone dear to us the hope of seeing them again after they have passed away can lead to trouble.As with many other horror films previously this film also uses this premise but in a rather original way, one of which I'd not seen before and because of this and the slowly building suspense this what could have been a very dull horror film did become interesting and enjoyable.Everything emirs an energy, magnetic, radioactive, kinetic and many more I've never heard of so image what could happen if a machine picked up and enhanced the energy of a spirit.For me the highlight of this film was the father's tool box (no spoilers).Rating 6 out of 10
