In the alien-western world of Oblivion, a suave, yet lethal bounty hunter named Sweeney arrives to arrest the seductive outlaw Lash on multiple charges, including murder. Lash, who just "inherited" a mine of Derconium (the most valuable mineral in the universe) from Crowley in a game of cards, meets up with Redeye's brother, Jaggar, who wants the mine for himself to rule the galaxy. It's a fight over Lash between the sheriff of Oblivion, Jaggar, and Sweeney. But who will emerge victorious?

"Oblivion 2 Backlash" will never be mistaken for a good movie, yet there are obvious improvements over "Oblivion #1". First, the film moves along at a tolerable pace, as opposed to #1 which often dragged. Second, there are attempts at "black humor" in #2, some of which actually succeed. Third, more Musetta Vander, who is by far the most interesting character. Fourth, the cheesy cavern scenes are laughable, with the camera shaking to simulate a giant turtle emerging from his long buried hibernation. In summary, this movie can be enjoyed without even having seen the first "Oblivion", and is quite frankly better. Sort of the "cream of the crap." - MERK

Here we have the sequel of sci-fi western movie Oblivion. The first movie was a very great trashy sci-fi western comedy that does not take itself too serious, but was too damn slow paced and boring at some points.Yeah the first movie has weird - cartoon like- characters and cheesy dialogues, lots of humorous one-liners and also bizarre special- effects and costumes. But nο actual plot and incoherent situations. It was fun too watch but the second movie is a bit better (not a lot though ,just a bit -we re talking about bad movies, dudes!).Actually the Oblivion was shot back to back with Backlash and so we are not talking about an actual sequel, just "the second part of a some kind of TV mini-series".I said that because the first 10 minutes are actually footage from the first movie , a summary for those who didn't watch the first one(Just skip this part). And the whole duration of the film is only 83 counting the 10 minutes of footage so i don t recommend this movie for those who didn't see the first part.Backlash is an incoherent and no actual plot movie like its predecessor. It begins from where the first movie left off.All the cast of the first movie re-appears in this one except from those who die at the first part. But it focus more on Lash(Musetta Vander),the female villain in the first movie.Vander is hilarious and too damn sexy in her role. Also we have new characters appeared: the lethal bounty hunter and gentleman named Sweeney and the some sort identical brother of the main villain of the first movie Redeye ,called Jaggar.May Backlash be a little funnier than its predecessor with the same kind jokes but it is more fast-paced(because of its duration), not such a mesh and not so tiring. The acting is not good neither bad and the plot is not so cheesy like the first one but cheesy enough for a b movie fan and it also lacks of the action of the first because it centers on comedy and the clichés of the spaghetti westerns. The campiness of Backlash ensures that you and your friends may have a good fun drinking night on your couch if u have seen and liked the first.they just don't make low budget movies like Oblivion I & II anymore. The uniqueness of these two films, a hybrid of sci-fi spaghetti westerns with elements of comedy, horror, romance(and drama particular in the first Oblivion) are the weird recipe for cult not classic movies that spoiled somewhere but who cares... i consider these films two of best from Full Moon. Yee-ha!!!!!!!!!!! Also i forget to mention that the hilarious performance of George Takei as the alcoholic town doc is one of a kind and reprises his role in Backlash:"Jim, beam me up!")

Long time forgotten movie on my local Blockbuster. Heck, since the mid 90's this movie has been on the Horror shelf and sadly, as far as I know, nobody ever rented it.I refused to rent it until I watched every single Horror movie on the shelf. Some were utter crap, some were decent. The time for "Backlash 2" came and boy, I regret for not renting it before!I haven't seen the original "Oblivion" but this sequel is entertaining as hell and perfectly displays clichès from Western movies but in Full Moon's strange perspective. Yes, there's lot of futuristic action in the West. Some cheesy weapons but still impressive. The acting is also weird but likable. A bunch of cowboys in the style of Metal Gear. There's minimal Horror in this movie but still it should please a conventional Horror fan.Musetta Vander (Queen Sindel from the second Mortal Kombat movie) is hilarious and very sexy! Extremely sexy I'd say. The story is entertaining and might keep you wondering "what the hell is going on?". Give it a try if you are into Full Moon's campy sense of movie making.

This movie, quite frankly, rules. I happened upon it one day while channel-surfing and I can tell you that no movie has quite the effect of Oblivion 2: Backlash. It may not be a good idea to rent this movie, because it may not be able to earn the cost of the rental. However, it's the best movie to accidentally start watching when you don't know what in blazes it is. Yee-ha for Oblivion!
