Their efforts constantly find the 'Duke Boys' eluding authorities in 'The General Lee', their 1969 orange Dodge Charger that keeps them one step ahead of the dimwitted antics of the small southern town's Sheriff, Roscoe P. Wow .... My head is still processing the utter mindlessness of the cretin who made this nonsense. I barely got through 20-minutes of it on Netflix before changing movies. What an utter mess. A ton of bad acting and sad directing, alongside horrible casting choices, characterization, script, and plot. Total crude and mindless humor at its dumbest. Completely insulting and shaming the classic series, which was a family-oriented show, and hugely entertaining. Bo and Luke were down-home good 'ole boys---not lust-driven, dimwitted playboys, always provoking brawls. Uncle Jessie was a God-fearing, rule-thumping fatherly patriarch, and Daisy was NOT a bimbo blonde, but an attractive, sexy brunette with real brains behind a pretty face. Roscoe and Enos were the comic relief, serving under the comical deviousness of Boss Hogg. Thank goodness I didn't waste my $ on a movie ticket, at its release. I'd have demanded a refund.

The only reason this movie has a 5/10 rating is because of all the die hard Duke's of Hazard fans who watched the TV show growing up. The fact of the matter is if you have never seen the Dukes of Hazard TV show, or don't have a sentimental love for the show, then this movie is worth a watch. Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott clearly have great chemistry throughout the movie, the plot line isn't boring or hard to follow, and there are definitely some funny moments from start to finish. Jessica Simpson, Willie Nelson, Burt Reynolds, and Kevin Heffernan are some good extras who make the movie more enjoyable as well. Dukes of Hazard isn't the funniest movie you will ever see, but it deserves more than a 5/10 rating. I was shocked when I saw how low the IMDb rating for this movie was until I realized it's because of all the Dukes of Hazard TV show fanatic reviews. I got some good laughs out of this movie and I think it deserves more than 5 stars.

...that isn't a Broken Lizard movie. The gang's all here doing cameos, and Jay directs too - and there's a great homage to Super Troopers - all of which help make this an hilarious movie. I've never seen an episode of the series and never had any interest to do so, so that helps me love this because it's not "spoiling my childhood memories" as one reviewer put it. But I also love all the Broken Lizard movies, so perhaps it's only natural that I'd love this too. And what's not to love? It's hilarious and fun. I cannot fathom why so many people bash Jessica Simpson, but from many of the negative comments I read about her, I suspect a ton of people are jealous of her for some reason. Personally, I think that she is not only gorgeous and sexy, but she's also a very talented and convincing actress. She's great in another of my favorite movies: Employee of the Month. In this she's perfect, and I can't imagine anyone else playing Daisy Duke - and that includes whoever played her in the series. I never want to find out who that was because I don't care. Jessica Simpson is Daisy Duke for me. Sean William Scott and Johnny Knoxville are hysterical as Bo and Luke. I've never watched a Jackass movie or episode, but Knoxville is funny and likable in this and The Last Stand - and also a convincing actor. The humor is goofy and funny in this as it is in every Broken Lizard movie - who couldn't find the scene funny where Bo and Luke wear Japanese name-tags and crash the college campus and the science nerd calls them by their Japanese names and Sean William Scott's like "What did you call me?" I give this movie 10 out of 10.

There is room for improvement in this movie; don't read the one star reviews who are angry because its not the original TV show and have convinced themselves that Daisy Duke was never sexualized in the original and Bo and Luke were never chasing pussy. Because she was and they were. In this new flick the Duke family is still fighting the system. Bo Duke is made out to be clueless about the world. I didn't particularly like Burt Reynolds as a thin Boss Hogg. Rosco is a huge dude and Willie Nelson is OK. Jessica Simpson's performance is good in spite of all the hate for her being cast as Daisy. The bottom line is it's a decent flick worth a watch for fans who don't mind the generational gap.
