There are many bad ratings for Employee of the Month, but I beg to differ with them. Yes the plot here is very cliché and predictable, but it is how it is executed that makes this a very funny comedy. The characters are hilarious and are acted well. Perhaps the exception to this is Jessica Simpson; she just seemed too stiff and always looked like she was racking her brain for her next line. But let's face it; she is not in the movie for her acting skills wink wink. There is a great cast of comedic actors including, Dane Cook and Dax Shepard who play the main characters. They run the show with their witty and offbeat humor. The supporting cast only adds to the laughs, especially Andy Dick playing a nearly-blind optometrist. Just the way he looks in those glasses is enough to make you crack up! This type of comedy might not be for everyone as it is a bit on the raunchy side, but I found it enjoyable. Some of the scenes are over the top and a few are just downright ridiculous, but overall this is a laugh-inducing 5 star flick. I hope this review was helpful. -MovieJuiceI wrote this on Mon May 18 2009 for another site.

Well, I guess the reason I'm rating it as high as 7/10, is because I expected it to be *a lot* worse. If a movie features a failed/has-been pop singer, you know that it simply *can't* be good. Having seen one other movie with Jessica Simpson (can't even recall what it's called), I can say with absolute certainty that she is truly talentless, and *really* not funny.Actually, she is not the only one -- the acting in general was quite bad in this movie. Not the worst I've seen, but bad nevertheless. The biggest problem (aside from the acting), in my option, was lack of humour. There were a couple of semi-funny moments, but that's not enough if you're going to present your movie as comedy. The jokes were quite weak, and, well, not funny.Overall, however, it's not *that* bad. Obviously, nothing remarkable about it, but many movies in this genre are *much* worse -- they are just annoying and downright unwatchable, but this was actually mildly entertaining, which, like I said, was more than I expected, so I was pleasantly surprised -- hence the high rating.

This isn't a great movie. It's actually a really lame premise that a box boy (or man in this case) in a super store who lives with his grandmother and doesn't own a car tries to woo the hot new cashier. However, for some reason i enjoyed it, at least most of it. I don't really even like Dane Cook but i thought he was pretty good in this movie. The issue is with Dax Sheppard, his character was super lame and weird. It's the type of movie that's totally predictable from the opening scenes - the main character loser will end up getting the new girl.6.5/10 Overall, this movie will not blow you away. If you don't like Dane Cook, don't even bother watching this but i found it to be quite humorous/good at times, albeit boring and stupid at times too.

Employee of the Month is actually not a good movie. I'll tell you why. First of all, it supposed to be funny. It wasn't. Secondly, it supposed to be great. It wasn't. And last but not least, it supposed to be a good movie? It wasn't. The movie idea maybe was okay, but the delivery was bad. It's like a cheap entertainment. Like you are going to see a great circus artists but you only see a clown who can't juggle. So many plot holes. So kids stuff. Children should see this one, because they find it entertaining and they may think that's how people work at supermarket. But people like me and you, know how the real work goes. I guess.Dane Cook is the only positive thing about this movie. A funny actor with a fast-paced text. Oh, and there was Jessica Simpson in the movie. Right, she didn't do anything, she just was.Employee of the month equals idiot of the month here. Seriously. This movie is pretty much a waste of time.
