On the set of Cleopatra, Hollywood's most beautiful star, Elizabeth Taylor, fell into the arms of one of the world's greatest actors, Richard Burton - and she didn't leave. Their subsequent white-hot, scandalous love affair gave rise to the paparazzi and they became the most hunted and photographed couple on earth. Their rocky, passionate, relationship, born in front of the cameras, was subsequently captured in a series of films, including The V.I.P.s and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? The last of the great, extravagant stars, flaunting diamonds, yachts and private planes, they continually seized the headlines. They even divorced and married again - only to divorce again - but remain in each other's hearts. This Elizabeth Taylor - Richard Burton story is a no-holds barred account of their undying, but impossible love.

Holy plastic surgery, Lindsay doesn't even look like the same girl, it's sad. I don't know if it's that Lindsay is a terrible actor, or Elizabeth was a terrible person but this is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I'm all for following your heart but why was he with her? Elizabeth Taylor seemed so pathetic and talentless. I really hope it wasn't this bad. The only saving grace of this movie is Grant Bowler. He encompassed Richard so much it was amazing! I'd like to say it's age and experience that did it but I think it's more just ability. Anyone would've been a better Liz than who they chose. That said maybe it's the perfect choice because they're both divas, and remarkably unattractive. I feel sorry for her children, what mother would put her man of the month over her children. 4 divorces by the time she was 29, why did Hollywood put up with her? If you want to watch a Grant movie, than watch it, otherwise don't waste your time

Sure, its no masterpiece but then its a Lifetime movie so really not intended to be. I definitely didn't think it was the disaster the IMDb reviews made me expect, either. There's no question, Lindsay Lohan really doesn't bring Liz Taylor to mind for anyone who is familiar with Liz. As many other reviewers have commented, it doesn't seem as if Lindsay even attempted to recreate Elizabeth's unique speech and a passable imitation likely would have made the portrayal of Elizabeth significantly better. If Lindsay's performance was considered for quality of acting alone, without any consideration of her likeness to Liz, it wasn't bad. I didn't focus on comparing Lindsay to Liz and I enjoyed the story for what it was. The last 15 minutes of the movie did feel just a bit rushed, I thought, even still, contrary to what I've read in other reviews I thought the story was well told and the characters well developed. I'm surprised the script and dialogue are being so harshly criticized - I have certainly seen much, much worse. If you're looking to spend 90 enjoyable minutes with something that doesn't require too much thinking I don't think this film will disappoint. A dramatic story of a tumultuous romance, set against the backdrop of the glamorous 60's Hollywood lifestyle.

This is a Lifetime movie about the love affair between Elizabeth Taylor (Lindsay Lohan) and Richard Burton (Grant Bowler). They are portrayed as pretty all manic, and bratty. Burton is a drunk, and Taylor is completely irresponsible. It's an unflattering volatile love story.Elizabeth Taylor fans are not going to like this movie. Neither of them come off well. She has the additional problem of Lindsay Lohan playing her. While she still has the afterglow of stardom, she doesn't do well mimicking her. The only thing holding her acting together is the poetic parallels between her and Taylor. Grant Bowler isn't much better, but he's not the star in this and he knows it.The story has a oddly entertaining value. It certainly doesn't have any production value. It's a movie done on the cheap. It's train wreck TV. The love story is a train wreck, and so is the movie. But it's fun to watch this train wreck.

I actually liked this movie, not only because I'm a huge fan of Lindsay Lohan but also because I think Lindsay together with Grant did their characters so well. I did some research on both Elizabeth Tyler and Richard Burton and they look almost the same. My personal opinion is that they both shaped and stepped in to their characters really good! It's a TV movie, and it fits that category really well. I don't think it would've fitted on the big screen in the theater but here it does. As for the contents, it's a nice story, and you really got the chance of knowing both Liz and Dick and their up and downs. And I think if you're in to the movies and the showiness, then you should be familiar with their story and them as human being. I liked it and I would recommend it to those who likes documentary, and a bit of history. And if you're a fan of Lohan.
