What was the reason for the sequel!? The first was bad enough, but well scripted; for other hand, this sequel was abysmal, leaving gaping holes in the connected storyline from the first to this one, and the unlikely action scenes are unbelievably stupid, not to mention the kiddy style used by the bad guys. A spray that knocks you out is the kind of thing I'm talking about. What happened to Natalie (Hilary Duff) from the first film? She dumped Cody? Now replaced by Emily (ex-SClub7 member, Hannah Spearritt). The chemistry between Emily and Cody was poor, he is 18-year-old and she is 23-year-old...without doubt, Emily looked like a real cougar with Cody. And Anthony Anderson as Cody's mentor was more distracting than funny. The end of this sequel was very bad: when Derek says goodbye to Cody, leaves an open ending for a possible third sequel that never happened. Way-too Hollywood. Come to think of it, way-too stupid as well. The fact that this sequel it is a film exclusive for kids is no excuse for it being so bad.P.S.: If anyone thinks that Emily was better than Natalie Connors, because the actress has 23-year-old; go watch and prefer instead a better 23-year-old heroine, Kazumi Hoshikawa/Five Pink, from the Japanese TV show "Chikyu Sentai Fiveman" (1990), a Power Rangers-like series, and make your conclussions.

Cody Banks is back in an all new high energy adventure with new gadgets, slick special effects and wicked chase sequences. This film starred: Frankie Muniz, Anthony Anderson & Hannah Spearritt.Agent Cody Banks 2 is better than the first but it is still not that good of a film, again like the first film it is good when you are younger, but again as you get older this is a boring film. These films are like James Bond but for kids, and I don't like that, it is such a bad idea when you look at it now. Not really recommended unless you have kids because they will probably enjoy this film.**/***** Poor.

Agent Cody Banks (Frankie Muniz) is at CIA camp. When helicopters come, he camp director Diaz escape. It turns out CIA was trying to capture Diaz for stealing a mind control chip. Now Banks has to go to London as an undercover musical prodigy to get close to a scientist who Diaz needs to perfect a mind control device. Banks gets a new wisecracking handler Derek (Anthony Anderson).I don't usually like Anthony Anderson, and I really really don't like him here. He's more annoying than usual. And going to London does nothing but create a whole bunch of idiotic stereotypes. Hannah Spearritt seems a bit to old to be a teen. As far as the production, it looks like a bad TV show inside the London residence. Cody Banks is a silly little teen movie. So that's to be expected in the sequel. But this is too silly. It doesn't even maintain the already low expectations.

Before I saw this movie on DVD, I had low expectations about this film because of the negative reviews about it. I must say that I liked it, a lot. This film is just as good as the first Banks minus Hilary Duff. This time around, Banks attends a CIA camp during the summer. One night, troops came to take the leader of the camp away. But, Banks thought it was just a drill. How wrong he turned out to be. The guy who escaped is a mind-control geek and he wants to use the devices to take over the world. Banks must head to London, team up with two more agents(a hot chick and an agent who stays in London), and stop the world from turning into mind-control freaks. The acting is great especially with all three agents played by Frankie Muniz, Anthony Anderson, and Hannah Spearitt. The plot was a simple one with a few comedic points added in. I recommend this movie to everybody. I rate this film a 9/10.
