After getting involved in a missing person case, a half-man, half-angel finds that a demonic overlord is planning to launch an attack on humanity with humans as vessels to transport the demons into the world and tries to stop the plan from being engaged. This here is a below-average film overall. One of the few entertaining ideas is that there's some interesting changes around the possession angle, as rather than getting a traditional version where one is possessed throughout the film only to get it exorcised at the end, this one decides instead to give several demonic figures that are actively possessing several individuals throughout the film, and that gives it a little extra that might be otherwise ignored as in excluding the tired exorcism scene. The beginning is the only one to feature that, and it's an abbreviated one that doesn't even finish which is quite nice since those scenes are really played out and don't really offer anything new. This here also has some pretty good action scenes in its' two really big martial arts fight scenes, which are both above-average for the style. The main one against the henchmen and their boss is the big scene, which is long and really drawn-out which makes for an exciting scene as well. Some of the gore scenes aren't that bad, and the continuous sleaze is provided rather nicely along the way here but otherwise, this one had a few nagging problems. One of the main ones is that there's not a whole lot of action going on, with a middle segment largely devoted to its investigation. The investigation is boring, with the film having absolutely nothing interesting going on since it consists of little more than bringing up wild theories only to be immediately shot down and is soon steered towards talking about him. This is done for everything in that segment, and doesn't do much to keep it interesting. The fact that this one is so short time-wise is another dragging mark against the film, since there's a continuous need to press forward with continuous scenes that produce nothing but boredom due to the predicable and really dull investigation segment. This one really could've used more time not only in keeping the running time for this one stretched out with a few more fight scenes in here while also giving it a more frantic and exciting plot line by refreshing many of the motives rationales for everyone involved as the shortened time rushes through all of these for the most part. These here are the film's flaws that keep it down.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language and Full Nudity.

Jake (Sean Patrick Flanery), a half-breed demon hunter, struggling with the side he has chosen with the war between heaven and hell. Finds himself facing off against an 'unbound' fallen angel, played by Billy Drago, who seeks to spread his "demon seed" upon the Earth. After watching this movie, I cannot see why others are comparing it to Constantine. Doing so would be like comparing Vampire Hunter D and Van Helsing, they have similar roots but take things from different perspectives.I took this movie at face value and went from there; it is a low budget film with cheesy effects, some gaping holes in the plot, and almost funny fight scenes. But when you look at how many other movies out there have similar story lines, you can see why it would be so hard to stand out in this genre. All in all, it's not a bad "rainy day" type flick; ranks up there with a series pilot that never took off...or like someone posted before, a B-level movie.

As a movie consumer particularly inclined to this genre and encouraged due to the positive reviews I've read here on the IMDb, I watched this movie and now offer my analysis. I don't entirely disagree with some of the glowing reviews, however it felt like a well produced T.V. pilot rather than a true theatrical release. It was well produced, but it never reached the "theatrical release" quality that I was lead to believe. I'll spell out the particulars...1. The pace seems like it was intentioned to where things stopped for no other reason than it would be a great place to put a commercial break.2. The costumes and "special" makeup, In my opinion seemed easy to recreate as though for a weekly show.Examples: The main bad hotty: stick-on horns and vampire fangs, little leather outfit. The main bad guy: vampire fangs, leather jacket. The main good guy: glowing eyes, occasionally. The main good hotty: nothing until SHE turned bad, then two finger demon hands and ugly face like the vampires on "Buffy".It's not going to win any awards, although it's better than many of the so called theatrical releases I've seen lately. I wish they had made this into a weekly series. I'd have tuned in!

I rented this move at Blockbuster on a whim, and actually thought it was pretty good. The characters had depth, the dialog was interesting, and I loved the action. The fact that the lead character had an internal conflict that actually played out in the overall story gives it more depth than just about everything else being cranked out in the horror genre nowadays. Its not perfect, but its pretty well put together for a low budget film. The one thing about it is, it's more like a supernatural thriller than a horror movie. If your looking for a good scare then this film won't do it for you, but if your looking for a good story then you might want to check it out.
