Forty years after a plane crashes on an island in the South China Sea, manly Lorenzo Lamas (as "Hack" Hacket) and his team of US Navy SEALs arrive to rescue secret agent Hayley DuMond (as Jamie Cole). She has been abducted by arms smuggler Steven Bauer (as Azir) and his gang of terrorists. They are all in for a BIG surprise, because radiation from the crashed plane has caused mutated dinosaurs to overrun the island. "Raptors have been extinct for over a hundred million years!" exclaims Ms. DuMond after an attack. "Somebody forgot to tell them," replies Mr. Lamas. "Raptor Island" turns out to be a small and uninhabited atoll. It's amazing to see so many healthy carnivorous dinosaurs running around. They've kept the place tidy.** Raptor Island (8/21/04) Stanley Isaacs ~ Lorenzo Lamas, Hayley DuMond, Steven Bauer, Michael Cory Davis

I found this movie to be watchable but trite and predictable. I like Lamas but this was not his best effort. The acting was stiff and wooden at times. The bad guys were not very nice. The seal team acted like they didn't know what they were really doing- They were grouped way too close together when they were moving through the woods, a grenade could have taken the whole team out, they shoot from the hip not sighting at their targets. The good is that the bad guys all come to bad ends but so do all but one of the team and the "company" agent. They finally get rescued just as the island is blowing up from the volcano. Now as to the raptors- Supposedly caused by a crashed plane with weapons grade plutonium on board there turn out to be hundreds of them and a giant one that is suppose to make a T-Rex pee. So where is the food source to support such a population? During the whole movie no other life is seen except for the raptors and the humans. Of course the raptors could have cleaned out the island but then there shouldn't have been so many left. At the end after the rescue there are at least three raptors seen swimming in the ocean after the chopper. I sure hope this did not set up a sequel

I'm usually a fan of these kind of straight-to-DVD movies, and dinosaur movies in general, but this one was not very enjoyable. The plot was loosely put together and I felt like it was generic and unoriginal. Only towards the end to the characters start to get interesting. For what its worth, the raptors were pretty fake, but thats not really my complaint with them. They just never seem to die and are VERY stupid. I would have liked to see more of a variety of dinosaurs and when they attack, I'd like it to be believable and a tad more gory. If you have LOTS of time on your hands, go ahead and watch it, but be warned you might fall asleep.

In the words of Billy Bob Thornton this movie is funny, but I don't know if it's funny ha-ha! Or funny Queer. Lorenzo Lamas is queer to begin with, then you add sorry effects and a lame story line and you have for a cocktail of queerness all around. If your a Sci-Fi fan you can watch this movie because is Sci-Fi but I warn you, you could develop some funny feelings (I don't know if funny ha-ha or funny queer) in the pit of your stomach. Over all this movie sucked like all of Lorenzo Lamas movies. What was that show he was on anyways, oh well I don't care I am just trying to fill the 10 lines so I can post this comment on a all around queer movie.
